Chameleon? Why?

I'm starting to think that they could also be a good starting point for a Bene Gesserit prestige class (with their second memories). With the Changelings from Eberron as Tleilaxu face-dancers (and Doppelgangers for the latest models), the Creature Collection 2's Darkwomb for the axlotl vats... You have the first elements for a D&D version of Dune d20.
Oooooh. Very interesting idea. :)

Look at the requirements. You need a d8 hit die to become a chameleon. So how do they think a rogue can apply for that?
Has to be a typo since it doesn't list a hit die type for the class itself.

@Maldur: You think the epic progression gives you a booming voice that makes you talk IN ALL CAPS?

I remember Ed Sullivan. He's on some Red Skelton tapes I've got.

The calss is odd, but I think I could find a place for it. Different fluff, though, like several have mentioned.

I read a short story once about a woman with multiple personalities, but had full control over them. She could shift skills and abilities like changing clothes. That's one way to see this class.

Another would be like the show (or shoe) Shaman King. You could be channeling a spirit or ancestor's ghost.

Another would be a form of living reincarnation and accessing your past selves.

This would make a good ninja class, the master infiltrator kind.

One question, Magic items, especially Wands & Scrolls, would you have to have the correct focus in place to use a Wand of Cure Light Wounds, an Arcane Scroll or any item that is specific to class?
