Change Staff spell on magic staves?

Hi,
I was wondering.... I'm playing a Druid with a magic quarterstaff that is +2 on both ends and one end has Fire enchantment and one has Frost enchantment. How would this work out if I were to use Change staff on the Quarterstaff?

Well if you read the Changestaff spell, the material component is a "specially prepared staff".

It even describes the 28 day process to prepare that staff. I would say turning it into a magical quaterstaff voids it's preparation, and hence cannot be used.

If you have a DM that ignores material components and requirements then the staff becomes the treant and could be destoryed as per spell description.
