Changes coming to WotC Community Team

Well good for him, although I was hoping that the "changes" were along the lines of:
1. No more lies from on high (like "We're launchin' a monsta buildah! really!")
2. Actual upstream communication to those who actually make decisions about DDi.

Well, it can only be a good thing if the guy in charge of communicating with the online D&D community-at-large is able to spend a greater amount of time doing exactly that. Maybe that'll translate to WotC actually saying what they mean, instead of what they'd like us to hear.

Plus, long-distance relationships are Hard. Good for the guy getting to live with his wife again.

Hmm, perhaps I misread, but I took the early announcement about the expansion of the beta to all DDi subscribers as an acknowledgement that it was still in beta (including the new monster builder). Granted the new monster builder is still nowhere near the old one, but I didn't take their statement to mean they thought it was finished, rather they were just expanding their beta of it.

I'm less angry about it being beta/not beta.

What i'm upset about is that they called it a "Monster builder" when it doesnt actually do that.

It's going to BE a monster builder, it's just that they haven't gotten the building aspect done. As it stands, it exists as a way to transfer monsters directly to the VT. The problem was that they didn't make that clear until AFTER the fact. Giving it a TEMPORARY name would be silly.

Aye fair enough. The previous phase of the beta had the same issue, which I guess is why I wasn't bothered by it. Or at least I think it did. I remember chugging around on it for a few minutes then realizing it was far easier to build a monster on the old builder. I just used the online one for MV monsters, etc.

But yes, I'll grant you that it is a bit ironic that its currently called a monster builder.

So, maybe I'm confused. Is Trevor still going to be a WotC guy or is he leaving? I saw he won't be managing the team, does that mean he's going back to the game support section answering rules questions

But as Incenjucar pointed out it would be ridiculous to call it "The Thing That Will Be Called Monster Builder When It Is Done." simply because they wanted it up for purposes of integration with the VTT would be utterly ridiculous. What either would have been the point of keeping it hidden away when people can look at it and maybe even point out some bugs?

webrunner If I were a WotC dev I'd want an apology for that kind of talk. Nobody lied to you. You got early access to a tool that has a useful function right now for some limited set of people and will no doubt be quite a bit more useful at some point. You were never promised it. You still have a fully supported .NET MB, and now you have access to this extra thing. So then people go and throw it in the devs faces. The Internet is such a classy place...

Yep, although they never should have put that it would allow you to build monsters in the launch announcement.
