Character Builder Question: Picking Sources?

Doc_Klueless

Doors and Corners
So, as mentioned in a previous thread by me, my daughter is hooked on D&D4e (she's pestered me almost nonstop to play another session). We're only using Essentials rightnow. However, in time, I think that she'll want to move on to "full" 4e.

Just to showcase what a 4newbie I am, I have a quick question. Well, it would be quick if I just got to the question.

Is there a way to restrict or select the sources that the Character Builder pulls from. For example, I'm not interested in getting a plethora of 4e books (not with 5e on the way and me most definitely spending my money on it because I'm a d&d junkie). So, is it possible to have CB pull solely from the 3 core books? Is it obvious and am just being a pre-coffee idiot?

There was not a way to do this with the online version, last time I looked, though the offline version did.

Ah, Ok. Not a problem at the moment (or possibly not ever), she's apparently perfectly happy with playing Essentials (which is very nice and "simple").

Thanks for the answer.

Yup, this is one of the few deficiencies of the online builder. E.g. our group has banned Dragon material and it's quite a pain to sort through the lists, especially for feats and magic items. At least you can order the lists by source, though.
