Character secrets

I have created a few while working with my player and their character's background.

One was two players had the same father and did not know it, this was due to both players answering background questions the same: Father was? Is he alive? It was rather interesting when they found his sword.

Another was the parent were of noble birth, whom were in a plot that tried to take over the kingdom and had to leave in a hurry, their names cursed and reward posted for them! The family was a scape goat and the villian was in power BUT the players did not know that for some time and the player kept it very hush hush during play as I told her anytime she told anyone their was a chance of Assassins hearing about it.

Oh, I forgot!! My fiancee's current FR character was traveling as the "student" of a paladin, who was actually her father. She knew it all along (although she was raised knowing someone else as her father). But the rest of the PCs only found out a few weeks ago in game time.

I played a fey'ri which I kept secred from the rest for a bit. He walked around as a regular sun elf.

When he told one of his enemies that with all this sun shining down on him and the heat and all, he could really use a bath, and the guy actually jumped from the ship into the ocean - with armour and all - the other party members freaked out. One of the players then tried to get behind that with all means - including asking on a message board and using meta-game knowledge.

In one 2nd ed campaign I ran long ago, a paladin was negotiating with a silver dragon they had met. The dragon revealed to her that he was her father (her mother had told her she was orphaned). Needless to say, I don't play half-dragons by the 3rd ed rules.

"I'm your father"
"Come on, that line's getting old"

That vampire character I was talking about in the D&D Rules forum? The other PCs have no idea. So far, they think me and my two spawn are swashbucklers (CWar) or something. I have not used any of the cooler special abilities, I said "I have a Ring of Spider Climb :b" and such. When we volunteered to watch the parties backs as they stormed the Temple (of Jesus, I think, this was colonial England) we ended up killing a bunch of low level paladins, clerics and adepts, and then draining them.

At least I did not offend anyone when I started speaking the Dark Speech and sacrificing the remaining priests on the altar (Book of Vile Darkness for the win ^_^ ), but I think they figured out that I am evil.
