Update on Dal

I fixed an apparent typo on the cost of your Wisdom. Nothing changes, just the accounting. (I normally avoid any such edits, but it truly seemed a typo.)

You still can take one bonus language, of your choice, if you like.

STAMP! Dal has a non-judge APPROVAL. Just needs a judge and then will be fully approved.

What this means is you can enter the Dunn Wright Inn, introduce yourself, interact with anyone that replies as you wait for (1) your judge approval and (2) a wandering DM with a level appropriate game to offer a spot. Until then, it gives you a chance to get to know others.

Reviewing Dal:
a) You still haven't swapped around the stats to your advantage. Putting 7 in STR, and 5 in DEX, with placing the +2 racial on DEX costs you 12 points instead of 13. Therefore, you can spend 1 more point on a different stat.
b) You get one more language because of you INT.

Since both of those are choices, I haven't stamped Dal for approval yet.

I'm withdrawing from Living Pathfinder. I find I've been treated much better elsewhere (specifically, that I have not been reamed for newbie mistakes anywhere except here). If anyone wishes to discuss the matter further, I can be found on gitp under the same handle.

nersxe,

I would invite you to reconsider. I did not take, for example, SK's latest post to be reaming you, but rather giving you another opportunity to get more for your character.

By the same token, I hope nothing I said was off-putting to you. If so, I sincerely apologize.

I was going to send this in a PM, but this deserves to be where you put it, in public.

Seriously? Three people tried to help you. None of them had any ill intent or treated you as inferior. We gave you advice. You can take it or ignore it. Our policy is to have two approvals for first level characters. We are rushing the paperwork a bit an you were invited into a game before both of those approvals were done. That is fine, we have done it before. We start a new first level game about every two months. Instead of making you wait all that time, the GM is taking on an oversized group in order to squeeze you in.

If you don't want to make the last two change suggestions, then a "I am happy skipping those advantages." would clear the last thing that we see as a hold up on the approval and the character would be stamped as approved. Non-optimal is fine and dandy. I have a cleric that can't read. It makes things a little more interesting. We just didn't want to have a oversight be the cause of something non-optimal that you might regret later.

So, if my post offended you, it was not its intention.

Seriously, what? Man, you weren't reamed; you were offered advice. I suggest you take another look and make sure you understand which is which. If you remain convinced that you experienced a newbie-reaming, I further suggest you take a look back at every other character which has ever been submitted to LPF, including those by judges and veterans. If you still think you got a newbie-reaming, then I certainly don't want to stand in the way of you leaving, because I consider it to be a waste of everyone's time to smooth over drama that is completely baseless and without merit.

If perchance you change your mind and come back, that's fine too. However, I for one am not going to apologize, because I don't feel there's anything for me to apologize for.

In closing, welcome to LPF or don't lit the door hit ya. Your choice.
