character suggestions.

I currently have a 4 rog/1 Fighter, I think I am going to go the magic route and I have pretty much decided on becoming a battle sorceror from the UA book. I was wondering are there any good prestige classes to take...I want have to keep the spellcasting but have a touch of fighting ability, kind of a middle to front line spellslinger.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Gil

what about the war mage. Its in complete arcane and miniatures handbook. its a core class not a prestige.

The Arcane Trickster may be fun - full Sneak Attack Progression, full Spellcasting progression, decent skill points (4+Int), and some nifty abilities. Only d4 hit dice, though.

I thought about the knight but I really don't gain much flavor.... is there a class that is like the arcane archer class but for swords or other weapons?

Try Bladesinger or Spellsword in CW. Bladesinger is very much for wizards, with Int to AC, as well as free quickened spells. Spellsword lets you cast in armor, and channel spells through your sword. Both PrCs have 1/2 spellcasting.

The Daggerspell Mage from CV could also be a good choice. While it isn't really a fighter, it's a very potent combination of wizard and rogue, with almost full spellcasting, decent sneak attack progression, and cool abilities.

Havoc Mage in Miniatures Handbook is another option. With Battlecast ability, you can cast a spell and make one melee attack as a full-round action. And you don't provoke AoA when doing this.

Well, no less than with picking up levels in fighter or wizard. ;)

Generally, the flavor is with your character not with the classes, tho. :)

Spellsword has more unique abilities (which you seem to mean with 'flavor'), but will hurt your spellcasting ability even more.

Havoc Mage (MH) is an interesting one, and its Battlecast ability can be devestating.

Spellsword (CW) and Daggerspell Mage (CV) are far cooler. Spellsword's more combat focused, but overcoming ASF is always nice, while Daggerspell Mage positively oozes style and flavour.

The flavor i was talking about was lack of unique abilities. Thanks for the suggestions everyone!
