Self-preserving.

(My current character knows he's going straight to hell for an eternity of torment as soon as he dies, so he's doing everything he can do to avoid death! He's an adventurer out of circumstance, not choice, of course!)

Dynamic.

adj 1: characterized by action or forcefulness or force of personality

My favourite character, Jarl MacAllister (and at the time, I didn't know jarl was a word meaning 'king') is a Rogue/Fighter with a heavy ninja bent -- if you take away stealth and replace it with swift, violent force. He is loud, obnoxious, and entirely too bold.

For example, he thought it would be a great idea to shatter open a door with a lightning bolt wand so that the entire dungeon floor would hear it and come to him. All at once. And it did.

He dined on whatever monster (aberration, magical beast, vermin, giant mammals etc.) he happened to kill that day, just to say he did. His favourite meal was roast basilisk, if a bit dry and chalky, and he felt some vindication in eating roast Green Dragon flesh after it killed our Paladin.

A locked, iron door separated him from a great prize (or so he thought), so he found a pair of sledges and, with help, proceeded to beat the stone out from AROUND the door until he got through. Good ol' hardness/HP rules. 'Course, as it turned out, behind the door was a temple to Tharizdun...

Relentless.

I played an Astral Deva using the monster-leveling rules from Savage Species. Our party was going through RttToEE, and had got near the end when this guy started to die. Often. The party cleric, however, was high enough level to just summon him back since he knew his name.

I don't think the rules technically allowed exactly that to happen with the spell we were using, but it was funny, so the DM let it slide.

Three characters, three one word descriptions:

Pragmatic.
(Lawful Neutral clerics of Hextor are like that)

Doomed.
(A Dwarven wizard with more ambition than is good for him)

Amiable.
(My ranger. He's a genuinely nice guy who likes a pint with his friends.)
