First Post
While wasting my time searching through the vast archives of youtube, I came across these. Comedy skits that do a great job of sending up everyone's favorite Timelord. :)

First up, from the Friday Night Project:

The Doctor and his new assistant - The Doctor arrives at the Pink Planet with his gorgeous new assistant in tow. A very gorgeous assistant.

The next bits are from the UK show Dead Ringers:

The Fourth Doctor rides a train - and shares tales of his adventures with fellow commuters that are sure to shock you!

A Doctor Who Christmas - how does the Tenth Doctor celebrate the Yuletide season? By sharing it with his past incarnations! Demented hijinks ensue! :p

An Interview with Tony Blair - in which the British Prime Minister relates his plans for the New Labour party for the future, only to have something fantastic occur. :p Just hilarious!

They need to bring the Gaylord into the regular series. Or a whole race of Gay Lords. Maybe they're the ones who brought down the Time Lords?

That second movie is hysterical. That guy does a great job with his Tom Baker impersonation. Plus he's so deadpan the whole time.

What? And turn the show into Torchwood? No thanks!

Jim Culshaw's dead on impression of the Fourth Doctor is one of the show's frequent recurring elements. In fact, he once made a prank call to the genuine article at one point, though I can't find any clip of it. Here are some lines:

Tom Baker: Who is this?
Jim Culshaw: Me? I'm the Doctor.
Tom Baker: No, I'm the Doctor.

His Obi Wan Kenobi impression is much better, if you can find any clips of that.
The Alec Guinness or Ewan Mcgregor Obi Wan?

Found it. That is hysterical. Tom Baker just goes right along with it, without skipping a beat. "I allowed K-9 to go on the pavement." "Someone slipped on the ball bearings?"

Thanks for that. I saw the one where he crank called Sylvester McCoy, too. That was pretty good. Did he ever get in touch with Peter Davison or Colin Baker?

Just listened to that. Absolute bonkers that is, and very sporting of Mr. Baker to go along with the joke. Fantastic!

And yes, I remember reading that he made prank calls to Davidson too. Though I'm not sure about Colin Baker.

Oh, and to correct a little boo boo I made. It's Jon Culshaw, not Jim. Sorry. :o

The older Dead Ringers radio show had a prank call segment. He also called Patrick Moore, asking for advice on where to land the TARDIS on Mars, and dozens of companies - booking hotel rooms, trains, trying to get his TARDIS repaired, etc.

One of my favourites wss calling an American hotel, to book a room:

"OK, sir, I'll need your name."
"I am The Doctor."
"What's your first name, sir?"
"The."

As Obi Wan Kenobi (Alec Gunness) he did much the same thing; ordered pizza to Dagobah, called a garage for repairs to his X-Wing, a life insurance company to claim given that he'd died, etc.

As Yoda he called Directory Enquiries looking for Ben Kenobi's phone number, and a couple of other places.

As Tony Blair he called a DIY place because ne needed help to "assemble a new cabinet". :D

About half the time people caught on partway through, giggle a bit and then start going along with it. Sometmes he gets hung up on. Sometimes people are just confused.

If you search in the right places, there are dozens of audio tracks of these phone calls. Search for Dead Ringers and/or Jon Culshaw.

I just happened to watch his visit to a car dealership as Obi-Wan on youtube. Damn if that isn't some of the funniest s**t I've seen in quite awhile. Best line has to be:

Obi-Wan: You cannot win Darth. If you strike me down you will lose your no-claims bonus.

For those curious, here's the link.

And thanks for the heads up Morrus. I'll try and look for those audio files. :)
