WotC Check out Magic: the Gathering's Tiamat

We've known for a while that WotC is releasing D&D-themed Magic: the Gathering cards, as a set called Adventures in the Forgotten Realms. Artist Chis Rahn has shared his Tiamat.

"Been looking forward to sharing this one for what seems like forever! Tiamat, for Mtg's D&D: Adventures in the Forgotten Realms set. This was one of those assignments that I felt incredibly lucky to get. I hope you enjoy it half as much as I enjoyed painting it!"

The MtG set comes out on July 23rd, 2021. The collector's sets have a beholder on the front. ICv2 has more information on the various set configurations. Bell of Lost Souls has some card images.

Update: Okay, actually scratch that... Magic Untapped - WotC ends Welcome Decks, announces Welcome Boosters and Arena Starter Kits

So are those Arena decks random, or fixed ... I can't tell from the article. Same think for the four Commander decks ... fixed, or random? If fixed and balanced against each other that would be ideal.

They are non-randomized pre-constructed decks.

I’ll note though that fixed doesn’t necessarily mean balanced against each other. In my experience, preconstructed decks tend not to be.

My understanding is that recent Commander decks have played well together.

Flumph and Tasha's Hideous Laughter. In case they don't load:

Flumph is flying defender that draws you and an opponent a card when it takes damage.

Tasha's is a Mill spell that exiles cards from opponents libraries and ... makes me feel things. I love this card.

Oh, while I don't doubt some spicier cards will be previewed, this is defintely the card I want to open in a draft or sealed pool.

Red and Blue deck, cast Tasha, then cast Dual Strike. This more brutal on Ween Decks then slower decks.
