Good Morning Chicago Gamedayers! :)

What a blast!

The King's Guards did an outstanding job thwarting the evil intentions of those who would snatch the crown. Their first call to action, while a bit messy, achieved its desired end. Their second leap into action was, perhaps, a bit premature but no lasting harm came from their missteps and their intentions stayed true. Their final act of protection was a thing of beauty as everyone involved was instrumental in the saving of the King. Good show and great fun! :)

My own character in the second slot run by Morgan fared, well, not so well. A lawyer held hostage by escaped criminals is probably in a bad position from the start but once you toss them all in an old creaky house, in the middle of nowhere, at night, in a storm, fuggedaboutet! Add in some clockwork guardians and a bit of mystery, and I think that Janet Matisse was in over her head (may she rest in litigation...) ;) Lots of laughs, tense moments and fun! :)

I also announced the transition of Chicago Gamedays' from my own hands' on event to MattyHelms who I'm sure will do a great job moving forward with the tradition. Thanks to him, Curt and all involved for making a cold winter day into a event full of imagination and gaming! :)

Thank you to everyone who put up with my CoC d20 game. Sure we only got like 2/3 of the way through the planned adventure, but - DUDE!!!! buzz's character lives again for another sequel and another archaeology lesson. And if I do end up running CoC again, I promise I will learn the damn d20 rules!!!! ;)

No sweat. If you run it again, I'll be playing and perfectly happy to be the walking rulebook.

He does a great job at this and is gracious about it, also. While I have a large number of D20 sourcebooks and peruse the boards regularly, I rarely (very rarely) get to play. Dinkledog was a great help with the finer points in the rules. Thanks.

And thanks to Mark and Matt for setting up the game days. This was my first one and I had a blast; I'll be sure to come down again when I have the chance.

Sweet. :)

Seriously, thanks. It was a pleasure to run for you guys. If I do run CoC again at the next Gameday, the real challange will be bringing some of the same characters back if anyone signs up again. buzz's "dude" is a given because of the sheer ridiculousness of his bad life and I'd love to see how Quickbeam's Liv has coped with encountering something she couldn't handle. Your character, dinkledog, coming back would be real interesting - since your homicidal rage was only long-term insanity (typically 20 - 40 hours) and you didn't actually kill anyone, it is plausible that Tim could return.

And it's too damn bad Maxfield Polish died. That little turkey cracked me up. :)

Later,
Matt
