Chicago Gameday - The Aftermath!!!!

jalea - Thanks for the link. I imagine you might have some takers on a d20 Modern Game.

KnowTheToe - You're signed up. And you're right - the time to act is now! Plus, running Boot Hill would rock.

ejja_1 - Focus that morning rage into your Viking, man!

FCWesel - It may be dangerous to assume that the Babylon 5 game will be out in time for the Gameday, but if you want to try to set up a game, let me know.

buzz - you know what happens to Vikings who jump ship, don't you? :)

Thanks,
Matt

Matt,

Count me in. Sign me up for breakfast.

I am intrigued by FC Wesel's proposal for a B5 game. So, I might be interested in that. Maybe he can check with Mongoose about when the game should be out.

Also, if you wish, I could prepare something to run in the afternoon. I have run events at previous Gamedays. (I can start working on something. If a lot of people express interest in the Gameday, I can have a D&D 3E adventure for 9th level characters ready fairly quickly.) If not, I would like to play in the Whispering Woodwind.

Hey WR...ya know, it sorta sounds like you think that Whispering Woodwind is in the afternoon--which it unfortunately is not. If you're interested in playing that in the morning though...you're more than welcome :)

William - Got you signed up for breakfast. Did you mean you would play in the Whispering Woodwind adventure if Babylon 5 didn't get run in the morning?

Thanks,
Matt

Party of One x 2

After much thought and consideration (and lots of breakfast tacos :)) it appears we are coming in for gameday chicago.

We will of course arm ourselves with copies of MMS:WE for door prizes.

Sign us up for Whispering Woodwind in the morning and Mark's mysterious game in the afternoon. (official RSVP's under the name of jgbrowning and suzi yee)

Take care and anyone know of a clean but inexpensive hotel around those parts?

-suzi

edit:we will also be attending eating festivities.....

Correct. So, if there is no B5 game, I would like to play the Whispering Woodwind.

Also, do you want me to run something in the afternoon. (We seem to be short on players still. Maybe posting a thread on Chicago Gamers might be advisable.)

To the two crazy Texans coming to the windy city....

THANKS FOR BEING THE FIRST TO SIGN UP FOR MY GAME! :)

What sort of characters would you like to play? We're playing straight core rules, so nothing too fancy...but what class can i put ya down for?

If there is something special you want to do beyond just picking a class, email me and we'll see what i can do for you :)

Suzi - Great - I've got both of you signed up! Thank you for the door prizes, too. I'll check with Games Plus today and see if they have any good hotel recommendations.

William - never hurts to try to start another game.

Thanks,
Matt

My wife prefers rogues, as only they manage to get into as much trouble as she usually does....

I'll play a cleric, as I tend to clean up messes. :)

You want us to roll or point buy or will there be pregenerated chars?

Thalmin and I did some scouting (actually just talking about hotels in the area and looking things up in the phone book) and here's a few:

Your best bet is probably the Best Value Inn on Northwest Highway. It's not too far from the store and is $55 - $60 per night. Their number is 847-255-2900.

There is also a decent Motel 6 in Arlington Heights (on Algonquin Road, right by the Arlington Heights road exit on I90). I believe they're usually in the $50 range. They would be easy to find from the highway, but a little more difficult to get to the store from.

There is also a Red Roof Inn in Arlington Heights, but I don't know too much about them.

Finally, thalmin and I noticed an ad for the Rand Manor Motel. While we can't necessarily recommend it, the Rand Manor Motel is apparently the "Home of the Four-Hour Happy Nap." And that phrase is a registered trademark, so don't go advertising your own homes as places for "happy naps". They have hourly and weekly rates for this adults only establishment featuring mirrored rooms. I suppose by "adults only" they mean no kids in the swimming pool and the only movies you can order are "My Dinner with Andre" and Nixon. Whatever floats your boat, I suppose.

Later,
Matt
