Chicago Gameday - The Aftermath!!!!

Viking Druid?

A Viking Druid is what's left to me after working all day? Where's the "HULK SMASH" mentality in a druid? :) Anyway, here goes (from my e-mail to Mark):

Some would say the frost is dead and the snow is death itself. Thorarin Ulfarsson knows the cold - he knows the void of a warrior's heart and the ice of a maid's stare. He knows the snow is nothing but life halted, waiting for spring's revitalizing warmth. If Ragnarok comes with Ice, it will staunch the Fire and sacrifice itself' its blood shall be water to renew the earth and mud. There is great power and life in the world others overlook, but only if the strong know how to weild it.

So, Thorarin is kind of outdoorsy and tough.

Thanks,
Matt

MatyHelms:

I will try to start up an afternoon game, as we are likely to have more people. I have a concept that I can develop quickly, but I will have to think of a name for the adventure. It will be a D&D 3E adventure for 6 characters of 9th level. More details coming soon.

Kind of interesting that, barring Synnibar, everyone is running D&D this time around.

Yeah, D&D has been kind of under-represented at the past few Gamedays in favor of other d20 games. Guess it's a good sign for the line that gamers always come back to D&D.

If there doesn't turn out to be more interest in the Synnibarr game, I may just drop it and go play White Plume Mountain - making the day a solid D&D-only affair!

Thanks,
Matt

Mark, please don't kill me

No, I'm not jumping ship.

However, I realized last night that I can't attend Game Day. :(

Apparently, I have to be at a wedding in Ohio on the 20th, and there's little to no chance I can be back in time for Game Day on the 21st.

My wife and I were making some travel arrangements for a trip out to VA (dutifully working around my desire to make Game Day) when we realized that we'd almost booked our trip right when we had to be in Ohio. Then I realized that said wedding totally negated Game Day. Dang invitation was posted on our 'fridge the whole time and we both blanked it out.

So, anyway, while there may be a 0.01% chance I could make the second half, I basically can't attend. I apologize for not realizing this sooner.

It was my Suessian prose, wasn't it...? :p

Sorry to hear that but surely a wedding must take precedence over gaming. Perhaps we'll still see you in the second slot... :(

Well, that reopens the Rogue position and in the meantime thalmin has claimed the Expert, so Rogue and Sorcerer are left. Get em while their hot!

Still tweaking the second slot idea but it's gonna be a doozy, I assure you. :D

It's a testament to my wife that she was trying to brainstorm ways that I could still make Game Day ("Maybe if we drive home overnight..."), but logic and the priorities of being a responsible adult won out. :D

Everybody have fun and feel free to steal my rogue idea.
