Okay, I'm sending out a quick note to the Gameday mailing list to see if we can fill that last afternoon event. If there's not immediate response, I'll go ahead and start the sign-up thread and close this thread down.

In the meantime, if you have any planning suggestions or ideas for Gameday X, please feel free to start discussing.

Hope I'm not too late - I am as slow on the draw as Mark is fast, alas.

I'd like to suggest a Masters and Minions event for the final slot: a D&D/d20 game introducing the new monsters in one of our Horde Books. We have three tournament modules that were originally used at Gen Con Indy last year: a level 3 venture into a stirge lair, a level 9 raid on a minotaur maze, and a level 16 trek through a remorhaz glacier.

Unfortunately, I haven't lived in Chicago for ten years now (though it seems like yesterday) - but if some noble EN Worlder is up for running such an event, I can hook you up with the Horde Books and the tournament module, complete with tactical battlemaps, counters, and illustrations to show players.

I'll also make a call for DMs at the Behemoth3 forums and mailing lists - and if someone can pass on the info for the Gameday mailing list, I'll post there too.

Whether or not we manage to make this event happen, I'll be happy to pitch in when it comes to prizes!

Tav, very nice offer indeed!

Says the guy who's running two events already, "Come one someone, step up and put your game in already." ;)

Well, if we don't see anyone step up by the end of the day, I'm happy to go forward with starting the sign-up thread, advertising, prize solicitation, etc.

Ergo, if you have not yet posted an event summary, please do so ASAP.

For the Paint Seminar:

If you have not painted that mini you always wanted to paint.. Ever wanted to learn better techniques, or you are pretty good already and you have some knowledge to part with and share... please join us at the paint seminar. You will be taught different techniques to make your mini as good as possible. Children are welcome if they want to learn how to paint. (not as a place to baby sit them though :D) Miniatures and paint and any tools needed, are provided as well as the knowledge to make you a better painter.. be you an expert or a beginner you are all welcome!

Hey Buzz, maybe you should give it to the end of the week.

Nothing is worse then having a game show up late and then everyone shifting around what they want to do. (That's for the players and the GMs.) The other option would be to "rule the slot closed" and since we have time...6 weeks...I say just hold it open for the week. That still gives over a month to sign people up, more then enough time.

as an effort to make sure i show up this time, i just notified all gamers in chicagoland that i know of through e-mail. maybe at least one of them will show! ;)

I suppose it couldn't hurt.

Okay, I'll give it until the end of the week. That'll give me time to get some other things ready, anyway. Keep posting those event descriptions.
