Good Heavens, I spawned commentary!
*cue evil laughter*
PB, I too considered plots with a timed failsafe, one of the first things that crossed my mind when somebody said "half-slot"... ..definitely a tried & true method. Plus, the plot of the game becomes pretty straightforward. Party must escape/prevent the timed event. No mysteries to get bogged down in the investigation of, which always has the one-shot GM pulling his hair out as a slot draws to a close, lol...
Thalmin, that's a good point r.e.: time to teach/set-up/etc... ..realistically, we're probably looking at two 2-hour games with a small margin for overtime, ergo 15 minutes to set each up. (I'm probably talking worst-case-scenario here, but better pleasantly surprised after playing devil's advocate than the opposite, no?) Also, PB's cheat-sheets are a great idea, especially as these half-events are theoretically all about introducing people to new systems anyway. Good thing I play fast & loose with any & all rules...?
Buzz... ..Buzz, Buzz, Buzz. Allow me to take this opportunity to thank you for your input. If nobody else provides any, yours wins by default, with only the possibility of my finding spontaneous inspiriation elsewhere in your way!
That being said... ..did you have anything more specific in mind? Sunnydale? LA? Just Jossverse in general (I'm tempted to pull a setting from a supplemental sourcebook if I do this one...)? What about the superheroes? Any specific team/genre/style you have in mind or would like to see? (AnyEVERYbody else, feel free to jump in on these suggestions!!!)
