Chicago Gamestores?

My friends and I all go to Games Plus in Mt. Prospect. It's a pretty good haul so we only go once, maybe twice a month. It's got one of my friends seriously thinking about opening up his own hobby store.

Are we dense and just missing the hobby stores in Chicago? I'm not talking about comic book stores that sell RPG stuff, or Gamers Paradise in the HIP or the Century, I'm talking a store like Games Plus that is in the city.

There used to be a great little shop in Naperville called Lon's Lair, but they closed up shop and went into a mail-order business. So for right now, the only good gaming shop in the Chicago area that I know of is Games Plus in Mt. Prospect. It's a great store, so even though it's far away, I don't complain. I play there in a semi-regular game with several other people from the boards, including Curt, one of the owners.

It's a fantastic store with a great game room, and did I mention that just about every wall has miniatures on it? So many miniatures.... I buy somehting every time I go up there--my wallet will never forgive me.

Really really friendly owners, great product selection, and a fantastic game room make for the best game store I've ever been in.

Sorry, I'm done advertising....LOL
