I thought the show was fantastic. Just for the record, no, I haven't read the books.

I rented the first series on DVD and watched it before this one-- first thing I noticed- the fx were 10x better. I suppose they have a bigger budget and better technology this time around. The whole sequence where they capture the worm was nifty. The Spacer guilder is all CGI now and he's well animated.

Costumes....better. Acting...better. Story....I'm getting wrapped up in it. Juicy. mmmm.

that was interesting.

i have read the books many times. and that first two hours was better then the dune miniseries, but still i am not a fan.

Having not read any Dune books at all I was a bit lost as to who is who and why these people hate everybody. Then again I had Children of Dune basically on as backround noise. I didn't sit down and watch it per se.

I did think the stealing the sandworm was cool but why didn't the worm just dig down and go under the shallow moat? (Shallow relative to the sandworm)

I love Alia. Roar.

I was pretty happy with it, and did not have the reservations I had about the first miniseries. Susan Sarandon was actually quite good as a villainess. Looking forward to tomorrow night.
