Chiming in on the D&D minis (merged with "anyone buying the new Mini's?")

Check this

If that's the red dragon mini, then I'm looking forward to the Dragoneye expansion.
You beat me to the punch! ;)

I had to double-take when I first saw that page. I was wondering how they were going to do dragons and still sell them in the same sized boxes. I now see how and am very impressed. Count me in for the expansion. I can't wait to see more. :D

I am looking foward to the first huge minis tho. Giants and the like.

I had a hard time finding these last week (and my not so local game store was sold out), so I ended up buying online. But this weekend, I stumbled across them in Barnes & Noble.

Also, I used to be into Mage Knight, and there definitely is an addictive factor, as in a way, it's like gambling.

The paint job on some of them is bad, I agree. The ghoul and the sword of Hieroneous is worse than some of the others I've got.
Mike

Really? I find I LIKE the Ghouls - I only bought a handful of minis to see what they were like, and I ended up with three ghouls. But then again, maybe I just like that shade of green...

And indeed, what a tastefully ghoulish shade of green this thread is. But that's what 1 1/2 months in the ground will do to you.

I have mixed feelings on the mini's. For the price they are good but I still miss the work and joy in paiting up set mini's. Also, I enjoy shopping around to find creatures and objects in toy stores and book stores that I can use. I am abit dismayed by the rarety/overall set. For 80 figures, there are something like 20 commons, 33 uncommons and 27 rares. I really don't like those numbers.

Wow, some of you spend WAY too much time on here - thousands of posts? Deep concern with how long a post has been active or not? What form of undead concerns itself with such things? What does your response have to do with the topic of the thread? Do you have any of the new minis? What do you think of them? Do you like the ghouls? See - isn't that more interesting than counting the days between posts in a particular thread?

As it is, I'm thinking of ordering from Amazon, because they are the most reputable dealer I know with the best prices.
Just a word of warning -- I just ordered ten packs of minis from Amazon and their shipping algorithm insisted on shipping each one to me as an individual package. At this very moment, parts of my order are in three different continents. :-(
