D&D 5E Chronicles of Eberron Is Keith Baker's New D&D Book, out now!

After a few days of teasing, Eberron creator Keith Baker has announced his new book -- Chronicles of Eberron! By Keith and Imogen Gingell, the 200-page book will be available on DMs Guild in December.

I know Anthony Turco is planning to do a big 1D&D update of all the Rising content for the dmsguild come 2024, I've gotten a peak at his early drafts of dragonmarks-as-feats.

I really liked Dragonmarks as feats and still use the ones from Wayfinder's and Morgrave. I would love to see an update on them!

I've played in eberron twice, and marks rarely came up. I think you can change them plenty.

100%. That said, I see no reason not to change them if you want. They have always been there, but somehow no PCs were ever in a house.

IIRC, Oalian cannot move, period. All of the high-level "benevolent"/neutral spellcasters in the setting are location-locked. Oalian is stuck in a grove in the Eldeen Reaches, Jaela Daran loses her high-level magic if she leaves the Cathedral of the Silver Flame, the Undying Court can't leave Aerenal's Irian Manifest Zone, etc.

Ah yes, Aerenal's "Irian" manifest zone. In my version of Eberron that's just something they tell to the tourists

Of course, if the setting's Demon Lords ever do manage to escape, all the benevolent spellcasters in the world won't make any difference.

Meh, I can live with that. Hell, add another complete set of 13 dragonmarks if the symmetry is important (and if you don't run out of ideas and spells by then!) Or even two sets - the 'original' dragonmarks are linked to Siberys, perhaps the other two creator dragons have their own marks too. Give a mark to the drow, and one to the sahuagin, the changelings, etc etc etc

I'd treat the aberrant marks as Khyber's marks, and give a set to races tied to the world as Eberron's marks. Shifters are obvious, but goblinoids as well, maybe bring goliaths and dragonborn in here, and you've got 6 covered without doubling up.

I'm disappointed to hear that such a project is being done but not keeping the marked subraces. I suppose it's easy to update races, though, so i can easily just do that.

That's because WotC produces almost next to nothing while letting the DMs Guild make everything. At this rate, what's the point of buying anything from WotC directly? I'll just get the DMs Guild content.

Yeah it's getting to that point where it's embarrassing how DMSGUILD is outshining the D&D studios team.

The good news is that thankfully the most powerful entities in the world are dedicating to stopping any given Demon Lord from escaping, not the least which including the minions of literally every other Demon Lord
