No, but 2e did started the tradition of the revised edition, thanks to TSR. Wizards of the Coast is the first to put out a revised edition three years after original's release. I agree it is too early, but then this is a fast-paced world with the global community connected to the internet so you get quick responses as well giving quick comments and feedbacks.BelenUmeria said:
The trouble is not that they reprint some of the books after a decade has passed. The trouble is that if every three cycle includes new versions of:
PHB, DMG, MM, MotP, Pscionics, FR guide, Splat books etc.
2e lasted for many years. We did not get the same material reprinted every three years.
That is one question only you can ask yourself. Do you want it now or buy it later? The revised edition is not going to go away once it is released. Wizards will continue to print it as long as there is a demand for it. So I really do not understand what "invisible force" is compelling you to get it.We have to ask ourselves, "do we really want so many versions of the same book?"
I recalled Monte Cook did an article on how to create a prestige class during 3e' initial relesase, which is nothing more than a guideline. I don't think there is no hard-and-fast rule on creating prestige class as they are core classes, if you want set of mechanics that involves accounting or point-buy a la Player's Option: Skills and Powers. And yes, I have the 3.5 DMG and there are no rules for making or converting PrCs.
