Opale shook her head. "We were relaxing, finding this place starting to be too crowdy, but as the city is even more crowdy (thanks to Rinaldo and his tournament idea), we are staying here. And we talking about anything except our adventures. I think we have seen enough of kobold to change subject... maybe you have a more interesting one than talking about teh crowd in here?"

((ooc: since you posted the link, I'm going to assume that you're still looking for competitors...))

Thamian examined the tournament notice, noting that it has already started. As he's not interested in any of the events already going, he considers it.

"Well, this sounds interesting... I think I'll try it. How about you, Quozen? Are you interested?"

[SBLOCK=OOC]The tournament is always open to spectator. Also, you can suscribe until a competition is started. Up to now, only Race [Novice], Joust [Novice] Craft [Apprentice & Master] and Performace [Apprentice] have started. All other events a still open.

But at first, it was mainly meant for Irene, if she want more details about teh curretn adventure of Rinaldo and his companions. But Everyone is welcome to join the Tournament.[/SBLOCK]

"I do like the sound of some competition. Yes, let's go see what we can do."

Quozen smiled to his newfound companion. He took another sip of his water, pulled out his waterskin, and carefully poured the remaining water into the bladder. He hopped off the stool and headed for the door.

Sitting down at the new table, Irene remembers her manners, as she greets the third person at the table. "Oh, where are my manners. I am Irene, as you probably just heard. Nice to meet you! I must have interrupted your conversation just now, sorry for that. I guess you were talking about your adventures? Did you travel far? Seen amazing things?"

The third person at the table must be the most innocuous halfling Irene has ever seen. If it hadn't been for the gleaming mail peeking out from under his tunic and the pair of vicious-looking blades strapped to his belt, she'd never ordinarily be able to pick him out from a crowd. In fact, she can't say for certain whether or not he'd even been sitting in that chair before her new friend had pointed him out. Despite all that, she gets the distinct feeling that she's met him somewhere before, though for the life of her she can't remember where or when that might have been.

The halfling is leaning back rather precariously in his chair so that he can prop his heels up on the edge of the table -- no small feat for a halfling sitting amongst human-sized furniture. As Irene approaches, his feet drop, his chair lightly thumps back to the ground. He sets aside his mug of beer, stands and tugs his forelock in deference.

"Jack Haggerty at your service, if you please, Miss. A pleasure to make your aquaintance."

Talbin notices the halfling at the other end of the inn. He picks up his mug and heads towards him. "Hi there! The name is Red! Nice to see another halfling around here! Where are you from if i may ask?" Having said this Red takes a small bow to the rest of the present company "Red Longstrider, Well met las" Talbin puts on a broad smile towards Irene, a little too broad to be mere polite.

Jack looks up at the forward fellow who's half again as tall as him and Irene... "A bit tall for a halfling, aren't you, Red?"

He hops back up onto his stool and sets to work once again on his poor, neglected mug of beer.

"Jack Haggerty at your service, if you please, Miss. A pleasure to make your aquaintance."

"The pleasure is all mine, Jack Haggerty. I get the impression you are not a wizard like Opale?" Irene asks, pointing at his blades. She winks slyly at the halfling while she rotates the wine in her glass. "What is it that you do, Jack? Can I call you Jack?"

"maybe you have a more interesting one than talking about teh crowd in here?"

"Oh, I'm not even totally sure what I've encountered anymore. My first travel to Monemvassia was a simple job, slay goblins in the area and collect bounty. I got pay per ear you see, so it was an attractive job. Sadly, we stumbled upon something much bigger, a big conspiracy within Monemvassia. From then on, things got stranger and stranger. The dead returning to haunt, led by a Cleric who teamed with Goblins, a young human girl that looked innocent was all but that, fishmen storming the beach..."
Irene takes a zip from her drink to give her throat some needed cooling down. "The last, what has it been, month? Months? I'm not sure, a long time anyway, I've been tracking down this human girl. Sadly, I never was able to track her down, but one day I will. And when that day arrives..."
Irene's eyes are burning as she talks about this girl, her hands shaking with anger. She shakes her head and empties her glass. "But my personal vete is something I'm sure you're not interested in. It's not really interesting, really."

"Red Longstrider, Well met las" Talbin puts on a broad smile towards Irene, a little too broad to be mere polite.

Irene smiles back, a bit intimidated by the spontanious halfling that joined them. "Hello there, mister Longstrider."
She once again moves her glass to her lips, noticing she emptied it on her last gulp. "Excuse me, I'm going for a quick refill. Be right back!"

"You're very astute, Ma'am."

"Suit yourself," he shrugs, "I'm easy."

"When things go right, you see, I mostly get paid to hide and pay attention," he explains with same sort of lazy conversational tone you'd expect to hear from someone elaborating upon the finer points of baking a cake. "When things don't right, as they so unfortunately have a habit of doing in our line of work, I mostly paid to poke holes in people, while doing my best to not get holes poked in me."
