"Evocation? Oh, like Rayne! Can you draw power from the eldritch ley lines connected to the tower of water and bring forth a cone of supercool ice energy?"
"Alas, I must admit that the arcane matrices necessary to channel these potencies are rather too complex to find anchor with the scapes of my memory, if what I heard about the spell in question is accurate. And, of the elements, Water and Cold is not the one I prefer to draw upon. Rather, that would be fire." Ashnar replies to the child. He then looks at Tenebrynn. "Have you taken an apprentice while I was not looking, Tenebrynn?" he asks jokingly, then turns back to Laynie. "You seem quite talented. What is your name, and where are you learning?"

"Fire? Oh, the flow diagrams for fire are some of my favourites--the way the energy flickers and shifts with such heat and passion through the ley lines, in an intricate pattern. The arcane matrix is as beautiful as the night sky on a clear evening!" Laynie replies, excited.

"Oh, I'm Laynie. I'm going to study at the Academy of the Chromatic Order in Medibaria, but I'm not old enough yet."

"Ah, the Academy, I heard about it. Must be an interesting place. I might look to visiting it at some time." Ashnar says, thinking back to his own education by the enigmatic Ardanadra.

"It's a really nice place. It has an awesome library, and all the best classes too!" Laynie gushes, "But some of the classes are way too easy, I think. Like even when I was a little girl, all the stuff was easy to do," Laynie points out, perhaps oblivious to the fact that most would still consider her a little girl.

"Welcome back, Ashnar, how's things back at the tower? Apprentice, not Laynie here, but Salvador is looking to study magic like his, aunt was it Rinaldo?" replies Tenebrynn.

The door to the Red Dragon Inn opens and a brute of a half-orc. Despite his strong build he looks somewhat unsure of himself, and a little timid as he comes into the inn. Heading over to the bar, he talks quietly to Joe. "Hi. I'm Sorgram. I hear this is the place to come to find work?"

A few hours after he has left, Rinaldo comes back, followed by Hogarth. "Welcome everyone, my name is Rinaldo di Senzio, magical item trader, and this is Hogarth Vradlik, priest of Gundar. Joe, you should ask that only once per day, everyone here know me anyway."

Joe points at the half-orc. Rinaldo remark him. "You got me Joe." He walk back to the crowded table and sits down. "Ashnar! How are you? I must thank you for the gift. I will be happy to help you to make yourself a name as a spell researcher. I'll make sure not to sell it to the first merchant who will only want do more profit. You scrolls will have the low price I offer to everyone when I found a deal. I am quite sure the will be sold soon."

Rinaldo turns to Vanitri. "I've found the information you wanted. Because one of my competitor, a man named Dalirin Thristle, who trades exotic and arcane goods, got an item that fit the description you gave me. He bought it for the amount of twenty thousands gold pieces. It seems out of price at first sight, and it is still the news of the day between traders. But he put many effort to get it, it pass through many hands. It seems that rod is some kind of spell nexus of moderate power. I am not very familiar with those kind of thing, but I think he will enter in his money easily. The rod would have come from Medibaria."

[SBLOCK=OOC]Gather Information roll: 30. Why I can't have such roll in game... can I know the color of the underwear of the seller with that roll ;) [/SBLOCK]

[SBLOCK=Rinaldo]Yikes--that's a high roll! In that case, you know that Dalirin Thistle bought it from a trail of buyers and sellers that leads back to Medibaria, and that it was thought by those who sold it to him to be a spell nexus of moderate power.[/SBLOCK]
