"Sounds right to me, Nurlan," the young monk says, standing. He resettles the straps on his backpack, checks the sais sheathed on each leg, then nods. "I suppose there's nothing left but to find that waiting carriage?" he asks, using his quarterstaff to point in the direction where their ostensible employer just took leave.

As he speaks he takes off the cloak, folds it and stuffs it in his pack, revealing a the much more mundane explorer's outfit he normally wears while travelling. To Joe he says, "It looks like I can't take my horse, Lordy, with me on this trip. If I leave him here, could you or your people feed him while I'm gone? I could leave you some money for his upkeep."
