Kith had been watching as the newcomer entered the tavern, and couldn't help being amazed at the sheer amount of stuff he was carrying, wondering why in the world one would burden themselves with so many things. He cursed himself a moment later for not realizing he was carrying the load of another, but found he had no more time to think of it as the stranger introduced himself.

Kith tried to focus on something other than the newcomer's nose, but its large and unnatural shape kept drawing him back, to the point he worried the man would think him staring. At last he caught sight of a large symbol the man plainly wore as a symbol of pride. Focusing on the strange cylinder to gather his thoughts, Kith finally looked up and said

"Kith, of the clan Ra Ei. Any (Knowledge - Religion ) servant of Sela is a welcome addition to my table."

Michael nods slowly.

"I thank you for your hospitality, Kith Ra Ei. Have you journeyed long?"

The "R" has a slight roll to it, and the "Ei" has just a faint touch of two syllables. Not an elvish speaker, apparently.

Michael fixes bright gray eyes on Kith as he waits for an answer. One hand dips into a pouch at his belt and brings out a grayish-blue rock, which Michael strokes with his thumb as he waits for a response.

"There's a difference? I've suspected yours are a subtle people Vanitri, but I'm still learning. What is a 'lil'sis' if not a younger sister?"

"Glad you asked, Ironwolf." Michael murmurs sotto voce. "I was confused myself."

Vanitri smirks and chuckles, then leans over and whispers to Michael "
Don't worry, she's all yours. Good luck.
"

Well, there goes the rock again...

The rock clatters to the floor and Michael dives for it, coming back up blushing furiously.
Michael fixes his eyes back on Kith's.

Yep. Definitely looking at the elf. And only the elf.

Kith's elven ears perked up as Vanitri leaned in to whisper into the human's ear (Listen check). He couldn't help but smirk as the cleric dove for the strange rock he had been massaging, though Kith was pretty sure he had a straight face when the cleric's eyes returned to his. It was clear an answer really was expected, or at the very least would be a welcome diversion from Vanitri's suggestion.

"Not long. My family lives in a small elven community in the forests south of here, beyond the fens and near the city of Lathim." Kith offered.

"I had hoped to find work here in the city, but so far I have had no luck."

Kith noticed a cup of cider had appeared on the table next to him. A casual look around revealed the waitress, already moving off to serve another. Without another thought Kith raised the cup to his lips and drank.

Jaan Saaresar of Osilia, male human

The door opens again, and a man of medium height and build enters the tavern. He is dressed for travelling. His boots and clock are lightly patterened with dust. Two maces hang at his belt, and a light crossbow is strapped across his back.

"Jaan Saaresar of Osilia, Servant of the Greenman," he announces easily. "And I am looking for a drink, a hot meal and a bath. In that order I think."

After ordering some food and collecting his drink at the bar, Jaan finds himself a place to sit. With a sigh he removes his crossbow from his back and plonks it down on the table. Then he takes a long pull on his ale.

"Greetings Jaan. Come, have a seat, have a drink, and let a load off." says Vanitri, am man simply yet colorfully dressed.

"Keth, work will come when it comes. Till then, tis best to simply relax and enjoy the wait. All of life is a journy, even the rests."

"You sound like my old teachers Vanitri," Kith responded, trying hard not to snort cider out his thin elven nose. "and what you say may be true, but it is also true that the man who does not search for his destiny often finds the farmer's instead."
