"Hello little lady. Are you and your friend passing through, or perhaps hiring?

"Hi there Mister Warrior Guy. We're just trying to find a men'tor, but not one of the ones that lives in a maze with horns...Say, have you seen an evil monster called a Scun around here? I'm afraid it's going to come and kill me like it did my poor Doggie..."

"Learn Magic huh? Well, I'm sure you'll find a good place." Vanitri says. "You know, the Freefolk teach magic to special children like you. I'm sure they'd love to meet a lovely little girl such as yourself."

"Free-foke? I think Doggie and I saw some of them in our wanderings once. They seemed nice before, but I don't like them any more--they're scary because they have the same evil picture-symbol thingy as the evil Scun, so I think that means they kill children. You haven't seen one around here, have you?"

"Certaintly they would not. I'm a freefolk myself, and killing children is the last thing I'd do." Vanitri says. "But as far as a symbol goes, I don't what what you mean off hand, but we're just wayword wanderers, and I'm sure nothing like that evil Scun."

"Nuh-uh! That's not true! They have the same symbol as the evil Scun symbol--it's a walking doggie symbol, and it must mean that they like to kill stray doggies, and that's why it's a dog, like Scun does! I bet you have one too then--Mister Kitty Cat, I'm afraid of that man!"

Will accepts the cookie with the same grace that he'd accept a title.

"Thank you, Theo"

He nibbles on the cookie then, finding the taste to his liking, finishes it with one bite. The jade in his eyes shine with satisfaction.

Vanitri stands and spins for the girl to see "I have nothing of the sort little one. And I certaintly have no desire to kill little doggies. On the contrary, the Freefolk take in stray doggies and raise them, give them a family."

"Oh yeah? Then how come the Free-foke have the same evil hating-killing poor puppies symbol of the evil Scun?"

(OOC: She might be talking about the holy symbol of Mongrel)

"Well, many of them follow Mongrel, but Mongrel doesn't advocate the killing of doggies either." Vanitri says. "But maybe Scun's got things wrong. Some people use good gods to justify evil actions."

"A god? Mommy said that those are fakes and Charlotte'uns, but I don't know what the second one is. I think maybe the evil Scun mentioned Mongrel too...he was a priest man, and got his evil powers from his god, so that must mean that Mongrel is evil too and hates doggies and orphans and wants to destroy families and take everything away..." Laynie's eyes brim with tears.

Vanitri kneals down before Laynie "Hush dear, don't worry. No one want's to hurt you here. The Freefolk have a legend, that Mongrel led the Freefolk from their oppression and united them as a family before he left to wander alone again. The Freefolk look to his example as a wanderer and a leader. The Freefolk are wonderful people, and without them I'd have no family. But I do have them, and am lucky to have a family that is as big as a town." He makes a gesture with his arms to show it's realy wide. "And that, is nothing to cry about of fear little one."

"Yeah, well maybe this evil Mongrel gave the Free-foke a family, but he took away mine! The Scun lied and said he was going to help doggie, but he killed it with a spear, and he was going to be okay! He was going to be okay!" she begins to sob "Maybe the Free-foke are evil and that's why he helps them, but Doggie was kind and gentle, and he almost died to protect me, and even to protect the Scun and other people too, and then the evil Scun killed him when he couldn't defend himself!"
