OOG: Since Will is my third LEW character, feel free to reject him from the adventure, ajander, if you have enough. Other people have priority.

Wilhelm looks curiously at the lad, smiling kindly when the boy's gaze moves over him. He looks about, his eyes searching the room for those who would aid the lad, besides Michael, Eternity, Setis and Jaan.

"If aid is what you require, young sir, then no monster is too great nor shadow too dark for Wilhelm Irontower!" Will stands and bows to the young lad, a gesture graceful and respectful.

At first glance, this appears to be no trial nor perilous, but one of my House would never let an innocent go unaided. thinks the Cleric of Ayratha.

Ogrin comes running in. "Has anyone seen Rasereit Vundinn lately? I may have a job for him... or for some other fine gentlemen (and women) of questionable morals. Come to the Painted Wench for more information."

Since he doesn't spy Rasereits face in the crowd, he quickly deduces that he's either not here or he has passed out on the floor. He head out the door and back to the Painted Wench.

Cookies? Attics? What would Kirill and the others think if he went chasing after things that go bump in the night when he is supposed to find real work? This is definately not the test Japheth is searching for, no matter how real or a stretch these monsters may happen to be.

Japheth continues to partake in his drink, taking in the conversation around him and occasionally stealing a glance at Eternity.

Kith watched silently as several of the tavern's occupants jumped at the opportunity to help the young boy who had asked for help just a few moments ago. As he paused to consider how best to accept the job without taking the boys cookies even more seemed to jump at the chance. Suddenly Kith heard himself speaking. "I will help, if it is needed. No cookies are required."

Kith turned his thoughts inward. Had he been too late?

Seeing everyone jump at the opportunity, Eternity turns back to Vanitri and says, "I think I'll pass on this one, certainly there must be more exciting adventure waiting just around the corner, something outside such a cramped city at least." She seems a little uncomfortable at the attention she has garnered though spying numerous inn patrons looking in her direction. Attempting to stiffle the urge to leave with the boy just to be rid of this place she sits back and orders a drink from Joe.

OOC Note: Hopefully this is not cutting too close to participation, but I figured having healing might make this seem less risky for a small or clericless party.

ooc: As long as you don't grant your own character a reward of any kind (xp, cash, etc.) you should be OK.

Theo goggles at the adventurers clustering around him. He looks carefully in his pack basket, somewhat concerned about running out of cookies.

"You look like an honest boy Theo, so I believe you. I am Jaan Saressar. I am a Servant of the Greenman. They call him Verdante here. Do you know him?"
Theo nods, big blue eyes open wide. He examines Jaan's holy symbol carefully.
"A-are you a paladin?" he asks, obviously impressed with what he sees.

"My name is Setis," he says, whiping his nose and drying his tears. "I sure would like a cookie. Is your grandmother a nice lady? I would like to meet her, and like to help you."
Setis reaches into his backpack to bring out a toy so that he and the boy may play while the others make up their minds.

"Gwamma's weal nice. An' she likes kitties, so I bet she'd like to meet you too, Mr. Setis."

Theo ceremoniously reaches into his pack basket and offers Setis a small squashed looking bar cookie smelling of cinnamon and lightly glazed with honey.

Theo's mouth hangs open in awe, eye bulging, he's so impressed.
"Are you a paladin too?"
dogshead said:
"Well the Greenman doesn't really like monsters. So can you tell me any more. What sort of monsters do you mean? Are they big and hairy? Or quiet and sneeky?"

Theo closes his eyes for a moment, then opens them again, wide and scared. "Sneaky an' scwatchy an' slappy..." His voice drops to a whisper. "An I think they ated Peanut!"

Kith may need to speak up just a bit...

No Paladin am I but a Priest of the Fire Sister, young sir. But ready to help you nontheless Wilhelm gentles his speech for the lad, carried arsenal nonwithstanding.

Sensing he had indeed been too late and that a group had already formed to help the young human boy Kith motioned to the waitress again, his eyes pleading for another cider as his finger pointed to the empty cup on the table. The waitress nodded in understanding and moved off toward Joe and the bar. Sitting back down, Kith quickly scanned the rest of the room, but soon found his eyes returning to the boy and the group that had formed around him.

"Kith, perhaps if you spoke up." Vanitri says. "The boy seems too easily distracted, and I don't think he heard you."
