Rowan thumps the table. "Rawen! It's not bedtime! I asked you a question! And what do you say, Rinya? Can you two both pony up 250 gold?"
"Two hundred and fifty?," Rinya mutters, counting out her purse. "I've...thirty-five, and some change."

Lokin had been silently watching the tense engagement amongst his companions and the mercenary, preparing to pull the barbarian off the other man in case things escalated. Relieved with the turn of events, he relaxes and orders another drink. Lokin sips his ale and smiles.

"Temper, temper, Kol. I know your anger is the source of your strength, but I'd like to avoid any combat that we don't get paid for. That is, any fight you get in, I get in. Like in the dungeon, I'll follow you into any danger no matter how stupid I think it is. I've got your back no matter what. So, next time you start picking a fight, think about poor Lokin and what you've dragged him into."

Lokin takes a deep gulp and wipes his mouth with the bottom of his tabard.

“Well… at least you know he’ll watch out for you. Good friends can be hard to come by.”

Valdaris muses over the situation with a shake of his head, making sure to avoid any potentially inflammatory comments, especially in the presence of the volatile barbarian who looked like he could just explode at any moment. Men like that were unpredictable. And dangerous!

The other man [Lokin] seemed fine, though, very much like himself. But Payne was definitely right – there was no need for a chastity belt with a thug like Kol around. As interested as Valdaris was to see what constituted an adventure around here, he decided to stay clear of the group for at least a little while, as he ponders what exactly Payne had meant [about Abdul] by the elf is requesting your service?

He considers things briefly, before seemingly remembering some other business to attend to outside of the inn. He calls out to the barkeep on his way out.

"Hold that second ale for the moment, Joe. I will be back in a while."

OOC: Making way for another character - I don't want to cause a rift in the time-space continum by having two characters in the same place at the same time! :D

A young elven female enters the inn. She is quite diminuitive and has pale, unblemished green skin and a slender figure that demonstrates a certain grace about her. Her features are elegent. Her curious eyes are green and she has brunette hair that comes a third of the way down her back, accentuated by a thinly twisted braid at the front and blonde highlights, particularly at the tips. She wears comfortable black high leather boots and a striking emerald green outfit that is split down the centre and embroidered with a fine golden trim and gold buttons. Also embroidered into the garmet with the same gold are dozens of intricately woven figures which give a plethora of animated performances.

She carries a small lute with finely detailed carvings and gold inlay along the length of it’s frame. On her back is strapped a longbow and associated quiver. A fine silver rapier with an ivory handle and black leather scabbard clings to her thin, black belt as she makes her way over to the bar and speaks with a melodious, soothing voice that is sufficiently loud enough for those around to hear.

“Greetings, good barkeep. As you would be well aware, my name is Eleria Moonsilver… and I have come to partake in the hospitality that this excellent establishment has to offer. And, perhaps, to provide some fine entertainment for your patrons as they enjoy their food and beverages.”

With a flourishing gesture of her right hand that sends her wide sleeve in a sweeping arc that elicits the attention of many of the patrons, and leaves the finely woven patterns on her garment glimmering in the light, she makes an ostantatious bow to all those before her. Her short performance completed, she gracefully hops onto the nearest available bar stool that provides a decent view of the inn and orders a little elven brandy from Joe. Once done, she reaches into her purse and carefully selects a few silver pieces, which she presses into the hand of the barkeep with a pleasant smile.

OOC: Eleria is a L1 Elven Bard in search of some traveling companions and a suitable assignment.

"Entertain, eh? Abdul asks Eleria. "Do play for us, then,, he says, taking off his great floppy black wizard's hat and putting it on the table.

“Very well then.” Eleria says with a nod of her head, before she takes a sip of brandy and draws her lute, which is ornamented with finely detailed carvings and gold inlay along the length of it’s frame. Though the instrument is in good condition and already tuned, she nervously plucks at the strings for a few moments until she is content with the sound.

“Are there any others among you who would like to hear a story or a melody?”

-Oh, I surely do, lady Moonsilver.- states the half elven druid, seated quite next to the newcomer. His green eyes locked gaze on the bard, in the way his animal companion had looked at its prey.

“The I shall be only too happy to oblige, good sirs.” Eleria replies with a pleasant smile towards those who had already spoken with her, a druid and two wizards among them. Without any further delay, she begins plucking at the strings of her lute and sings a melody designed to lift the spirits of those listening, as requested by the gnome…

Come gather ‘round all ye folk,
And listen to my tale.
For I shall tell a yarn or two,
Over a glass of ale…

And you will find as many do,
The words contain within,
A story of adventures had,
At the Red Dragon Inn…

Improvising on the spot, she sings a lively melody of the inn and it’s patrons, turning to wink at Joe in the process if she manages to catch his eye. When she is finished, she carefully rests the lute beside her and takes a small sip of her brandy as she acknowledges the audience with yet another ostentatious bow.
