Payne shifted her weight upon her pedestal, and with a cocked head she continued to watch the man. ``Why thank you. I hope that I get paid next time as well..`` She cracked a grin and then straightened her head. ``If a job comes along that needs all fighters, then the employer is in luck.`` Spoken to no one in particular.

-Indeed miss, you all seem to be that sort of persons- the druid adds distractedly to Payne comment, as he plays with his snake companion.

"Perhaps my uniqueness shall prove the difference in my gaining employment then at the next opportunity." Remarks Saithnar to no one in particular as he takes another small sip of his drink.

"I shall drink to that, Ciprinus. Especially as I have little else to do otherwise." Saithnar says before taking another swig of his drink.

Still feeling the weight of her eyes upon him, Valdaris responds to the young lady in a slightly obsequious tone, “That will all depend on the task at hand m’lady; and if you should be fortunate enough to find a suitable benefactor. What would you say are your talents?”

His usually indifferent dark blue eyes lock with hers, seemingly more alert than usual.

"If ANY job comes along, then a potential employer will be able to select from a broad pool of talents" remarks Abdul between gulps of beer.

He watches the tension between Payne and Valdaris, secretly hoping for a fight.

OOC: It can be difficult to convey a mood through text, so allow me to clarify…

There is a little ambient tension, though Valdaris isn’t angling for a fight - especially not with a lady. There is something of a repartee between them. Valdaris views Payne with respect and more than a little intrigue. He is making an effort to be on his good behaviour and is even a little flirtatious. I cannot speak for Payne.

Also, in the absence of any ‘quests’ right now, I’m interested in interacting with anyone with even just a little depth. It’s all fun and part of the game. ;)

-You are right friend, "if Any". And add this to that: we are going to have mushrooms growing on our heads before anyone comes here with a decent offering.- the druid puts his snake on the floor and stands up- Come on Carpio, lets get you something to eat- addressing his companion.
-Excuse me, is there some storage room, where you have some .. lets say.. rat issue?- Ciprinus asks to the bartender

Her hand lifted to run gloved fingers over her scarred jaw line. How did she want to handle this? Pencil thinned brows arched a bit as Abdul interjects his thoughts into the conversation. ``The way I see it, I'm a shoe-in. Not many moody, lock picking broads with a dark past that they don't wish to speak of out there now-a-days.`` Her words were lined with humor, as she had seen many women claiming to that in an over abundance lately. That or the big breasted ones that spread like jam. Her attention flickered from her 'friends' to Abdul, then back to Valdaris. ``If I told you .. then I'd have to kill you. And as enjoyable as that sounds, that would require me to get off my stool and I'm feeling a bit lazy at the moment.`` If Valdaris was flirting.. Payne didn't take the bait. Then again, when did she?
