(OOC: While we're making those checks, Zaeryl has +16 to Knowledge Arcana and +6 to all other Knowledges on the list of possible choices (including Psionics) )

(OOC: Oh by the way, Manz, if you want to expand on or use Prof Dendril, what we know about him so far is that he teaches 'The Golden Age of the Medibarian Empire' and that he is not as strict as many other profs at the Academy and allows students who miss assignments to make them up)

Those knowledgable in the arcane arts have indeed studied Dragons, and are aware that many types of Dragons prefer underground lairs. They are sometimes worshipped as gods by the lizard peoples, kobolds especially. If they have gathered an army of such creatures, however, you can only guess that they have been awake for some time before so dramatically letting the world become aware of their return.

The young woman confers with her wizardly retainer.

"If you are interested in discussing the details of this contract, perhaps the ones known as Zaeryl, Ignatious, Planus, and Opale could join me in the back room?"

[sblock=ooc]If any of those worthies declines the invitation, she will inquire of the others regarding a recomendation for additional party members. Also, let me know if anyone else intends to butt in without an invitation. :) These selections are made in character by the npc, who may over-value spellcasters, and do not necessarilly reflect the DM's idea of good party makeup.

Manzanita, re: ooc2, that can easilly be worked into the upcoming adventure.[/sblock]

While seeing and possibly slaying a dragon holds some intrigue for Zack, he is severely lacking in the spellcasting department, so he mostly ignores the new troupe.
"I think I'll go and ask the officials where I could set up a smithy. Come see me soon and I should have your armor ready, Hulgyr."

OoC: Zack will be able to only accept cash as otherwise he won't be able to afford to craft the armor in the first place. That means you'll have to sell the sword to have enough money.

Droggle walks into the bar, his weatherbeaten cloak shows the rigors of his journey here from the mountains to the north. His short stubby fingers pull the hood from his head, revealing a somewhat tangled mass of red hair, and a thick beard braided to hang down over his barrel chest.

His eyes roam across all the patrons in the bar, sizing them up, trying to spot who the trouble makers may be, that was just in his nature. As the barmaid greeted him with a smile, he only returned her greeting with grunt, and moved up to the bar as she directed. Making a good first impression on new people was never his strong suit, and he gave up trying long ago.

He spoke briefly with the bartender and ordered mug of ale, not even noting the bartenders scowl as he stated it fell short of what he was accustomed in his home town, it never even occurred to Droggle that this might be an insult.

As he spoke a bit with the bartender, and drank a bit more, his voice became louder and his tongue more free and he even began to laugh once or twice at the bartenders jokes.

"well Joe, I think I may have been to hasty about your brew, it seems to get better with every mug. and if I'm not careful, I might find myself without a copper . By the way, if you know of any jobs that need doing around here, I'd love to hear about them"

(OOC: Droggle is still waiting character approval, I just wanted to post on this forum as an introduction_

"Oh, these dragons destroyed a town near your home, Iggy? That's terrible! We've got to see what we can do. And four dragons working together? Ah, one for each of us, I guess," Planus finishes with a wink. Planus heads for the back room, almost bursting with anticipation, apparently oblivious to the fact that he is humming tune almost under his breath.

OOC: It sounds something like "Dust in the Wind" by Kansas.

*Zaeryl will also head to the backroom.*

(OOC: Yeah, despite the Academy bias, we could definitely use a tank or skill monkey if we could, and then Opale could stay for the Mega Adventure with Rinaldo like Velmont had suggested. That also leaves a caster for the 7/8 group of the Mega Adventure.

Of course, we can probably handle without a tank if necessary by having Zaeryl summon many constructs)

OOC: Iggy & Opale have become mechanically quite similar. More than just being the same class & almost the same level, they also share many of the same spells, as they've copied back & forth. It would probably be better to split them up.

(OOC: Agreed--that's sort of what I was saying above. Plus Velmont expressed that he'd like to have the two cousins come together for the big adventure (which will come soon!))

ooc: I agree with those observations, but do you want to do anything about them in character? For example, Zaeryl might invite Hulgyr to come along. I get the feeling Zaeryl wouldn't be the first to make such an offer out of warmth and friendship, but he's seen the orc's effectiveness first hand. Are there any higher level skill based characters about, maybe a rogue or ranger?
