[sblock=OOC]Great timing, 3:15 is my time to depart as well. My tendency to get stuck wherever there's roleplaying is notorious and harmful for RL events, like S.O.'s, currently former such.[/sblock]

Rapture nods to Keldar and gets ready to sit down again until she hears something that perks her attention. Polite, but with a determined look, she makes her way over to where Sammy is sitting.

"Excuse me m'lady if I'm interrupting, but did you say Espranachtis?" she asks.

[sblock=ooc]If you think that's hard, try being a CG paladin trying to shed her trained habits of 17 years. ;)[/sblock]

Sammy turns her head to face Rapture, sniffs the air a couple of times and replies with a charming smile, "Yes, and now you did as well. I don't believe we've met," She extended her hand carefully toward the older woman, quite obviously to shake hands. I'm Samina but I like to be called Sammy. Can I help you in some way?"

[sblock=OOC] [ /color ]? :D

Give me a level 17 psion and it's never been easier, multiple times a day.

Oh, and is Sammy preparing to cast a touch spell at you? Hmm? Can you take the chance?[/sblock]

"I'm sorry m'lady, my name is Rapture," she says with a curtsy and offers her hand for a shake as well. "Where was this order you speak of? And what was your father doing in it?"

Completely oblivious to the goings-on in the rest of the room, Galwynn extends his hand to Pendrake. "Pleased to meet you. As for Covington... I think I may have jumped to conclusions in trusting the observations of someone unused to our ways. I have a sense that Halina doesn't truly want me to head towards Covington... yet. Maybe one day, I'll be in the area, and I can speak with this mayor. But maybe not.

Galwynn leans back in his chair. "You're not from around here, either. You must be awfully lonely, to be so young and in strange territory. Perhaps you should visit a temple? Halina is always with me, but I feel her presence more in her own house. It might ease some of the burden I see in your eyes.

Marissa Quinn, Human Commoner

The door to the inn suddenly bursts open. A fair-haired woman in her early thirties thumps into the room, slender hands that have seen their fair share of calluses and oven burns blocking her face. While she may have once been beautiful, the hard life she has lived (evident from the patches on her simple dress, and the broken nature of the shoes she has slipped on her feet) has washed all but a few traces of that beauty away. The smudges on her face have been smeared and streaked by a recent bout of crying.

She runs straight to Joe, who seems surprised to see her. "Marissa...? What are you doing here?"

"It's Tomas, Joe! He didn't come home last night, and I can't find him!"

"now, calm down... that boy is a bunch of trouble. I'm sure he's just being careless."

She bawls loudly, and buries her face in Joe's chest. The bartender stares into nothingness, embarrassed. "That's just it! he's never done this before! And I haven't been able to find his friend, Hukk, either! I just know something's wrong! I know it!"

"Now, Mar..."

"Please, Joe, I know you can do something. Please?"

[sblock=Adventure Notes]
This is an adventure hook (obviously). It's going to run for at least three months, if not longer - my last adventure was supposed to last "two weeks" and wound up lasting two months, so don't quote me on time limits.

In any case, it's designed for five characters, and that's all I'll be taking. 1st level characters are accepted, although I want higher (2nd or 3rd) level characters as well. Really, I'd like the group to look something like this:

One first level character with no experience points (with preference going to people new to the boards)
One or two first level characters with at least 500 XP
The rest of the group being 2nd or 3rd level, with the expectation that they take the brunt of some of the encounters.

In addition, I want at least of the characters to be from my previous PbP, Blacklily Violence. However, that is not really a requirement (just a personal preference, really).

Before you try to sign up, I'd like to say that this is going to have it's tough parts, and I'm not going to pull punches. I post every other day or so, though I'll be checking the board daily, I think. I want players to post at least two or three times a week.

Urban characters will come in handy, especially bards and rogues, although all character classes should have somethign to do.

Finally, if I don't throw you on the roster, don't take it personally - there's a lot of people in the RDI right now, and I can't take everyone. [/sblock]

The dusky skinned Xir, who sofar has been silent, examine the markings on his hands once again, looking intently at the woman.

OOC: I meet the first criterion, but I'm in no rush and would prefer a psionic-related first adventure. I'm sure they'll be enough folks. But, I'm here if you need me.

The woman turns towards Xir and Auric, and sobs, "I... I can't find my boy! He's always getting into trouble, sure... but I know something's wrong! I KNOW it! I know Joe deals with you adventuresome folk... I guess I just hoped a few of you could ask around about Tomas..."

"Well, Marissa, usually you have to hire them..." Joe says, awkwardly. "Although I'm sure I could put some of my own money forwa-"

"No, Joe. I have some money saved up. From my docks job." She calls out, in a wavering voice. "I... I know it's not much. But I have thirteen golden crowns and seven silver marks, for whoever finds my boy!"
