Rapture sees the attempt and smiles meekly. Then, she hears his suggestion, "Oh, of course Keldar."
She gracefully rises, takes the last sip of her wine before setting the glass down, and waits for Keldar.
Seeing Samina escorted by Richard Rawen, Keldar does not get up. "She is in good hands," he says. Somewhere in the last few minutes since answering Auric he has lost some of his habitual manic jauntiness.

Sammy listened carefully and nodded politely as they walked to the table. She thanked Richard for his help with a smile and raised her eyebrows at the question. "Order?" she asked quietly, but loud enough to hear without any greater effort. "I'm afraid I don't follow. And please, call me Sammy. Like you said earlier, we are acquainted."

((OOC: Go go take ten!))

Deciding to sit, Richard winces as the scrape of wood on flagstones draws attention. Making the motion to move the bastardsword out of the way... and realizing it isn't in it's customary spot, Richard finally sits down and smiles tentatively.
"Ok, Sammy... I meant religious order, your robes mark you as a priestess? Or are you still a Novitiate?"

Sammy thinks for a while and remembers what her father had told her a long time ago and she replies, "Well, I'm not actually a priest of any order... My father said he used to study under someone from the Order of Espranachtis, but I don't think that counts. My parents told me to wear these kind of clothes to denote that I'm a healer." She bites her lip and frowns slightly. "I'm sorry if I mislead you in some way. Maybe I should join some religion so people don't get confused that way."

Suddenly she realises what she had said and she giggles, "Then again, it might be a bit easier if I just changed my clothes, though then people wouldn't know that I'm a healer," she continues, smiling warmly. "But now I'm being rude, what do you do?"

(OOC: Espranachtis is the incredibly evil goddess of darkness, but I guess you know that, right? Being a member of her order is not something you usually just tell people though  )

OOC:[SBLOCK] She didn't say she was in the order, she strongly implied that she wasn't, and while I hate to flagrently metagame, check her character sheet it does not say Espranachtis. She said her father once studied under someone from that Order. Deleted: This is going to be interesting. Galwynn, Rapture, I believe figuring out what in the Nine Hells is going on here is your job. Oh and Sammy, NEVER say that in public. Might get yourself killed.[/SBLOCK]

(OOC: They don't have an 'Order' though--it would just be a target for crusades of paladins and such if they did. I say this as the goddess's creator, not some random guy (usually I'm just the random guy though))

Richard is obviously fascinated. All his life he's either fought or struggled so he's overwhelmed by the act of a young woman wandering the world - alone - blind - And wanting to Heal Others!
Richard's got no clue about religions, other than a few teachings of his rural parents, the harsh rituals of the orcs... and finally the easy manner of the Halflings... yet none of the spiritualism stuck with him.
Once again he finds himself embarrassed. Never exactly suave, Richard usually just avoids women, especially attractive women. The only few he's spoken with at length have all been comrades in arms, breaching the gender gap with steel as it were.
"Your clothes are fine, if you want to help others your robes will tell them your intent. I don't know anything of the gods, but if you are willing to place yourself in harms way for others then you must be one of the good guys... "His smile momentarily returns, then he thinks of Sammy's question. A dark look passes over his face as he considers his words. "As for me... Well I... it's nothing so noble as to heal others I'm afraid... just uh... well, I am just a warrior." His face bunched up, he frowns at his words, unsure what else to say.

[sblock=OOC]Naivety is a curse, but she's supposed to look

a) like someone who'd never-ever do something evil or worship Espranachtis
b) the type you wouldn't really want to hurt unless you're a big bad meanie-poo.

EDIT: Oh geez, thanks for posting while I'm writing this. And yes, she smiles a lot.[/sblock]

Sammy smiles comfortingly. "I don't know about placing myself in harm's way, I might not find it," she flashes her tongue at the silly joke. "But I do know that if someone needs my help and asks for it, I should give that assistance to them." She takes a small sip from her glass to moisten her throat.

"I suppose being a warrior is similar though. From what I've learned from my parents, some people and creatures are just beyond the point where they can be convinced to help others and so they must be slain," she frowned. "I don't like the idea of killing and dying, but sometimes it's the only way to make others safer and happier. My parents didn't really like to talk about these things but I think that people should work for the benefit of others as well as their own. After all, we're in this together, right?" After finishing the long speech in her high-pitched voice she smiled encouragingly before drinking a bit more of her milk. "And the gods are in this world with us, so I think whatever we do, it should be balanced between us and them."
