Rowan is deeply emeshed in his books. He's not a good reader, and these books in particular seem to require all his concentration. He stops, though, when the bard approaches Richard and sings.

Rowan is fond of Richard. He gathers his things, and sits in the chair vacated by Rinya.

"'lo there, Richard. This place is hopping today."

OOC: We should get a revised count of who's in here. I'll update the RDI thread briefly. Perhaps someone else can help.

Looking around the crowded tavern, Richard notices all of those that have been quietly observing from the edges of the room.
"Aye, tis maybe that they gather for the coming storm? Likely as not they're simply seeking the glory of adventure same as I not so long ago. What about you man, what drives you from other pursuits out after zombies and land sharks and such?"
Richard continues to stand in such a way as to include Rystil, glancing her way on occasion to see if her attention has returned to him.

(OOC: Linkage above is to the RDI thread as well... that's a Lot of people sitting quietly!)

Auric walks over to Galwynn. Do you and that Keldar guy have some running feud, or is he just always like that?

He looks over to Richard. Well, if you're asking everyone... I'd say for me its money, fame, and leaving behind a legacy.

"Some trials turn out to be blessings, do they not?" says Keldar. Then with a gentle smile, he comes out with yet more doggerel rhyming:

"To set a fine example,
To be a moral guide,
I must annoy through foolishness
That can some virtues hide.
For when you try to imitate,
You sometimes will exceed,
And rare success o'er those who're best,
Is what all strivers need."
"Well, you've certaintly been the most entertaining trail I've run across so far if that's the case," Rapture says with a smile.

Smiling, Richard nods at the scale clad warrior, "Tis as good a reason as any. You are called Auric? I am Richard apRawen, and this is Rowan and the Lady Lasair," he gestures to those on either side of himself, "I'll let them make formal if they choose."

Meanwhile, the tavern door opens once again, this time to admit a young girl dressed in white clerical robes. She seems cheerful and walks determinedly, even though a thick band of white cloth covers her eyes. After receiving a few whispers from a nearby barmaid, she approaches the bar itself, evading chairs, tables and patrons with visible ease.

"From what I gather," says Keldar, "Galwynn believes his goddess has sent me to test his faith, so that he walks more closely in her ways. Keldar, divine emissary! Though Galwynn would perhaps say 'holy fool'."

Richard said:
"Really!?" The young fighter's enthusiasm is quickly clouded by the confused and conflicted look upon his face. "I mean, well... I really appreciate that."

"Of course. Only tell me how much you need? Regretfully, Lord Westmoreland was far less generous than Lord Pician, and so I have only little more than 100 of your platinum to spare, but it is yours if you need it."

(OOC: You can get 50% sellback value for your old weapon, or more if you sell to diSenzio's shop--I'm sure they can afford a nonmagical nonMW bastard sword. And the name's Lasair, as you did get in 595, but you've been saying Rystil for a while ;))

Rapture said:
"Not usually m'lady, but it can be. Lord and Lady before a name usually means that there is some official title, though it can be used simply to convey reverence of them. For someone who's name you do not know, you can only be polite and assume and treat them as if they have a title. It is best though to treat any master as a Lord or Lady," Rapture says. "Person, person as a Lord or Lady."

"Those who wish to be treated as though they have great vhal should act with great vhal...To call people 'masters' as you have...well, it gives me unpleasant memories of that Covington and the slaves brought there. What a horrible place!"

Yes, the shop can afford that, but as the shop is named: di Senzio's Magical Shop, you can guess that we trade only what is magical or related to it (high price spell component and focus). I even have refused a mithral chain shirt once... not sure it was the best move, after all, it is the best armor for spellcaster.[/SBLOCK]

After exchanging a few sentences with Joe, the barkeeper knocks on the wood a few times before bellowing in a very loud voice, "We have in our presence the Lady Samina Winters, who doesn't like disturbing strangers!"

Samina gives him a brief smile before sharing a wider one with the rest of Inn. She leaves the bar with a glass of cold milk in search of a place to sit down after a long trip, turning her head as if looking around as not to disturb patrons by moving without sight.
