Civilization Revolution - I beat Deity!

First Post
I am happy to say that I beat DEITY mode on my first attempt! It was tough, with Queen Elizabeth about to win the culture race... but I had a little trick up my sleeve -- pay everyone else to declare war on the Queen!

With everyone busy fighting I managed to get my ship built and sent to Alpha Centauri.

Unfortunately I haven't been able to win on Deity since then, so there's a good chance I just got really lucky

Congrats! I only played the Civ Revoluitions Xbox demo, and I can't say I was that impressed compared to the rest of the franchise. That's just me, though.

Nothing wrong with that, but in my opinion I don't think they can be compared that way. The normal Civs (which I will refer to as the PC versions) are much deeper, forcing you to deal with corruption, citizen happiness, and a slew of other things micromanaged things. It's fun, but takes many man hours.

Civ Revolution is a completely different beast -- it's fast paced and simplifies many duties. Most notable is the lack of worker control, which is a good thing in my opinion. Rather than telling the workers to build a Road to point X, I simply select a city and buy a road to any other city (instantaneously). The game handles all the irrigation and stuff so I don't need to worry about it.

Personally I enjoy Civ Revolution much more since it's extremely fast paced. I polished off a game on King Level in 3 hours last night, something I can't do on the PC. It's simply more accessible than the PC versions.

Disclaimer: I absolutely loved Civ I, Civ II, and especially Civ III... but I thought civ IV was too religion focused and visually inferior to the previous versions. (and why is GHANDI so freakin' good at being passive-aggressive in all the versions?!?)
