Clarification on paramiters of Wild Shape

Yes, I know I will have to use my own BAB and HD, but the stats of the huge dire lion will be higher (str +8, con +4 and better natural armor) because the increment in size. I was thinking more of a roleplaying bonus... its not the same looking at a 3 meters dire tiger than looking into a 5 meters dire tiger... also, you can take advantage of the increased strenght to knock off doors (take the form of a huge dire bear and charge with strenght 39, lets see if this door can resist it...) or anythin else..

But I think that you are right, I can only wildshape into typical forms, so I will ask my Dm if he allows it as you have said...

Thanks anyway:)

the only points I disagree with the average only clause of wildshape is that sometimes different sizes are used to show different speices, now things like snakes, bears, dogs and cats were lucky

but they left out a few others for example there is a medium sized eagle in the real world(known as the harpy eagle iirc) but in game you can't change into it, likewise there's a small sized real world bat speicies(the flying fox) and I'm sure there's a small sized owl in the real world, all of which are species which by strick rulings you can never change into

In my mind it has been that way. tht you choose the one animal from that size catigory. to show this you have the feats of sent and blindsight. in each feat the prerequsite is that the druid has to have access to the form. I could be missing the point but I figure they are not just saying you have to be 5th level to use scent and 12th lervel to use blindsight, otherwise they would have said that.
But they are specific in stating that you have to have that animal form to gain the feats.
another thing... in the Shifter Prc it states that they can assume the form of Humanoids (they use the plurel to show it is not just one form they can take)

The thing about Blind sight is that In MotW they say that as a Druid you can only Wild shape into animals you have encountered. So when its says “have access to the form” means as a Druid you have encountered and animal with that ability and can then Wild shape to it.

good thing that this is dnd and not the real world though so it makes it easier. =o)
