Does WotC have an official ruling on how the Weapon Master powers work as far as weapons with multiple types?

For example, the at-will says that for an axe it adds damage and for a polearm it makes shifting provoke opportunity attacks.

How is the ruling on weapons such as halberds which are both? Do you pick one or do both abilities proc?

The rules as written are silent on this matter. I suppose the most literal interpretation allows you to use both. It might be considered too powerful, so my take would be to allow you to choose only one of the benefits, not both.

Also, you should probably use this D&D 4th Edition Rules - EN World D&D / RPG News forum, not the General RPG Rules forum. I suspect this might be easily missed here since most D&D 4 "rulese experts" will be found over there.

I seem to remember seeing this thread title before, I suspect you put it into the General forum and some mod asked you to re-open this thread in the rules forum. I guess he should have been more specific. Don't let that furstrate you. ;)
