Classic 1st edition AD&D Game (Recruiting?)

Don't worry about me leveling quicker than everyone else. Chances are I'll die in some appropriate 1st edition fashion before I get too far, anyway ;) .

I must say that I'm surprised at the turn out, but very glad!

Okay, found my 1st edition AD&D players handbook. (Wow, there were some major mistakes in there. Did you notice that although 19 was a possible score, they forgot to put it in the ability charts, so you'd have to refer to another source for the information?)

Never played ADnD 1st, but this seems a lot like 2nd. Anyhow, no books, and afaik none of my friends has it (though I do know some got DnD 1st) and not sure I'd join otherwise. Other than nostalgia, the older editions weren't really great.

Okay, here we go!

Argent Silvermage
  1. That 5 will cause you a great deal of trouble. You can not be multiclass with it, and depending on where you place it will determine what calss you can be. Rather then all that headache, can you just reroll?
  2. I know that the 18 was nice, but that 5... that 5...
    If you want to keep your scores, then here how it breaks down. 5 or less in strength: must be a Magic-user; 5 or less in Int: must be a fighter; 5 or less in Wisdom: must be a theif; 5 or less in Con: must be an illusionist; 5 or less in Charisma: must be an assassin; (in case you deside to be something other then an elf) 5 or less in dexterity: must be a cleric.
  3. Max hitpoints, which would be 7 for you.

Rangerjohn
  1. I'll assume Nuetral Good for the alignment
  2. I'll need weapon perficiencies (you get 3)
  3. Thaco is a 2nd edition creation. In AD&D it was the responcibility of the DM to tell you if you hit. When you roll, you'll need to tell me the total that you roll (d20 +0 in your case for the longsword, d20+1 for your longbow).
  4. The Minumun abilities needed to qualify for a ranger are a little different as well. They need a 13 str, 13 int, 14 wis, and a 14 con.
  5. Your character, being a half elf will be able to speak Elvish, Gnome, halfling, goblin, hobgoblin, orcish, and gnoll besides COmmon, of course.
  6. half-elves only have 1 in 6 chances of noticing a consealed door if not searching. Secret doors, they have to search for.
  7. Please buy equipment: you start with 190 gp.

Wortworm
  1. I'll assume that you are True Nuetral, unless you tell me differently.
  2. Please remember that back stab is a melee special attack, and the opponent must be surprised (Ie: Successfully snuck upon).
  3. I'll need a list of equipment as well: he starts with 120gp
  4. I'll assume that hte two weapon perficiencies that he starts with are the light crossbow and the shortsword.

Andrew D. Gable
  1. Need an alignment (has to be nuetral or evil of some flavor, but not nuetral good)
  2. HP should be 8 (d10 (10) (for fighter) + d6 (6) (for theif) /2 =8)
  3. AC = 6 (8 for leather -2 for dex)
  4. Don't worry about Thaco... it does not exist yet.
  5. I'll still need equipment from you. You start with 160gp.
  6. Open Locks should be 35%
  7. Your halflin gains +4 to saving throws vs. wands, staves, rads, and spells plus the same save vs. poison.

Henry
  1. Wow, looks good, except that THAC0 is not in use
  2. and I'll need a complete item's list: you start with 180gp.

This 1st edition world it TOUGH! be warry of traveling out door, for there is a real possibility of meeting witha dragon, or even a dinasour at first level. It's an untaimed world, and men travel in packs when outside the cities. The towns and cities themselves are not safe, with vampires roaming the streets at night, and the graveyards coming to life. Beware, or be dead!

Well... ya, that really does blow. You know you can just roll under different names until you get one that you like, and then tell me it's under THAT name, right? *Troy's chaotic side shows for a second*
 

I've decided to keep the stats I rolled. I'm putting the 5 in Str. He is a mage who was cursed at birth and is physicaly weak due to the curse. 18 will go to Int.
I'll have him up soon. Promise.
