it works too.

i bought a used Chessex battlemat with an old stain on it and removed it with the brake cleaner.

We always stick to brown and green as these seem to stain the least on a Battlemat.

Yes, acetone will turn a vinyl mat white: ink, background and lines go poof.

Have to give baby wipes a try. :)

All ya gotta do is wear some nitrile gloves and use it in an open space, MSDS tend to be pretty dramatic too. Just don't breath it or get it on your skin.
 

There's a bunch of old threads on this topic FYI. Yeah DON'T use acetone on a vinyl mat. I use water or Windex on my mat but its not vinyl. Don't use red markers. They're bad. Black works best IMHO but don't leave it on overnight.
