I feel mildly trolled for taking the trouble to explain this, but I guess someone has too... When a wizard or sorc can cast one fireball a round, every round of every combat, this argument will have relevance... and your DM will be pretty lame. :rolleyes: The fighter has the advantage of not running out of swings, there is no need for him to be able to do the same thing with each swing as a spell caster can with each (of his limited number of) medium to high level spell slots.

Which I'm sure you knew. Its certainly painfully obvious at low levels...
