Clergyman - NPC class. What do you think?

Thanks Mark. I guess you have been there and done that. Pretty cool.

As for mine being an expert, pretty much true. I'm not really trying to make a new class as much as apply a different feel to the game world. In most adventures I've seen, clerics are running the temple. I just thought it would be a good change to make being a cleric more significant. Not just anyone can wield divine magic. It seems in most fantasy game worlds, can just pray and get spells. "OK", I'm a cleric now."

I'm all for adding new Culture Classes to the mix. If you like, why not try your hand at writing up a variant called Culture Class - Lay Clergy? This individual could have most of the qualities of the County Clerigy sans spell casting. Perhaps something that combines the Expert and the Commoner NPC classes in some way? We could tweak it and I'd be happy to offer it as a free Lexus download. There' no money in it, of course, but you'd get a share of the writing credit. :)

Who needs money? Now fame is what I'm after. Once you get your first writing credit, the possibilities are endless.

(Well, maybe not. But I could still say I have a writing credit.)
