Cleric PrC

Hmm... maybe it's just my weird imagination, that I think, the contact has to be made in some way other than being actively thought after by the cleric (because he needs the requirement).

More like you realize after making a contact with a deity or powerful outsider, that you are meant for something more significant and then start pursuing to follow the high ideals of a contemplative.

Contemplative

That seems the more obvious route, but what about your cleric being _more_ devout than most, and contacting a powerful servant to better understand his deity's wishes? It almost seems like a clear path for a really dedicated (i.e. zealous) cleric...

About the Contemplative, how is the requirement (contact with deity or something like a Solar) even fulfillable, unless the DM just makes it possible for the sake of allowing access to the class? It's not like 10th level characters have contact to something as powerful as a deity or even a Solar often! ;)

Well, my character fullfilled this requirement during the time that he was dead (while waiting for the True Rez back in town). You just need to have a DM that is willing to RP the afterlife a bit :)

Cool! :)

The cleric in my other group certainly would qualify for the same reason! ;)

My 'problem' with the class is just, that usually you have to plan a little to get a Prestige Class, because of the requirements, but the Contemplative requires both, some planning and an unplannable incident (unless you allow Commune, Gate, or anything else, but then you could as well drop the requirement, I suppose), which makes access to it quite random.

With the way you are describing the character I would think doing a few levels in Divine Seeker would blen wonderfully with your rogue levels... nice abilities to help out on the hunt in those old temples or wherever... I know it's not an answer to the question that was asked :) I just liked the concept and wanted to input my two cents.
