Clerics and Paladins, Warrios and Priests

I tend to disagree with most alignment restrictions for the core classes, except for the Paladin (Which probably means that he should be a prestige class). That said, the Paladin is not a "holy warrior" as much as he is a warrior who is holy, good, and comitted to order. Threrfore, he should be LG. I think Paladin should be a prestige class that anyone of LG alignment can take.

Don't replace the Paladin with a holy warrior core class, that can be filled through multiclassing.

Thats one position I just dont understand. The paladin has always been a core class. and if people desire that archtype why should they have to multiclass to get it? Indeed if theirs enough demand for the archtype to make it a prestige class, why not just take the prestige class?
I mean thats fine if thats what works for you, by all means. I just dont understand it myself.
as far as a "solution" if I was to run a campaign I would probably have a slightly altered less combaty cleric and a paladin with no alignment restrictions.

prexactly, it's in the Book of the Righteous. Which is a good book, and the cass is great. seamless with the paladin.

A Paladin was never required to follow a faith ... he is the champion of LG being granted his powers not by some deity but because of him being "pure of heart".

By making that you just create a new class ... its not a paladin.

And honestly the holy warrior of all faiths is the cleric, reason of why clerics start heavy armor profiency.

Ok...so...I take it that summed up you mean you think things are fine as they are and you dont see any inconsitencies of role?
