I tried but at the time he was grinning so big over my barbarian's remaining 1d4 hitpoints he didn't seem to hear my protests about how great my saves are. :)

7th level with 2 pearls of power? Heh, you are far more equipt than I...

My magic items consist of +1 Battleaxe, +2 Chain, +3 Small sheild.

No misc items, and my armour (the best suit the party has) is not optimal for me.

Edit: Added Gorms text

Gorm Gulthyn (gorm gull-thin), the dwarven god of guardians,
defense, and vigilance, is lawful good. His titles include Fire Eyes,
the Golden Guardian, and the Sentinel. He is the patron of all those who defend dwarven homelands from hostile outside forces. He commands all his followers to be ever vigilant and to never let their guard down lest they or their charges be surprised and overwhelmed.

Many among the dwarven military worship him. The domains associated with him are Dwarf, Good, Law, Protection, and War, and his favored weapon is the battleaxe.

7th lvl as a cleric not character. Character wis Im a Cleric 7/ Rogue 2/ Barbarian 2 and I have the craft wonderous items feat

Magic Vestment and Greater Magic Weapon rock! At an hour per level you can cast them so they last all day with a single use of the duration doubler feat, and they're useful even in high magic campaigns, because you can focus on getting magic weapons with lots of special abilities and give the enhancement bonus yourself.

For example, my 9th level dwarven cleric is having a holy flaming warhammer +1 made. It's costing him pretty much the value of all the treasure he's gotten his entire career. And he can bump it up to +3 all day (18 hours) with a single 5th level spell (4 + 1 for double duration).

That makes it the equivalent of a +6 item, yours now for the low low price of only 32,000gp - a savings of over 50% off the regular retail price of 72,000gp!

But wait, there's more! Magic Vestment works the same way - my character has a non-magical shield and platemail +3, so with that, he can make the shield +3 as well. And it's FREE with the purchase of a non-magical shield and the Extend Spell feat.

NOW how much would you pay?

I am surprised no one has mentioned magic circle against evil. That has saved my group numerous times. Also, bless is incredible for a first level spell and stacks with prayer.

Finally, a spell my cleric is never without is dispel magic. Absolute necessity when fighting other clerics.

Tell that to a DM. Not evil on a moral axis, but evil on a rules axis.

That is what I meant when I said Harm is not evil.

It doesn't have the [Evil] descriptor on the spell. Therefore, the spell is not evil.

There is no question it can be used for evil. So can a sword. The difference is the magic it uses is not inherently evil.

Screw Harm, Destruction's where it's at. :) Sure, you get a save, but my Madness Domain'd Cleric7/Divine Oracle 3/Contemplative 7 makes that save a 28. I've chewed through about half a dozen drow of greater than or equal level to my character (Greater Spell Penetration is a good thing) using that bad boy. I remember blinking the first time I used it (15th level I think, I 'd just gotten the spell, and nailed a 16th level drow cleric with it) and thinking 'holy cow, did he really go down that fast?'

Hero's Feast is another good one against the drow. Immunity to poison and a bless spell for the whole party.

Finally, Magic Vestment is a classic. If you can get your hands on custom equipment, make sure your armor is only +1 with other special abilities on it instead of additional enhancement bonuses. You can always use MV to make up the lost enchantment points.

Can you guess who's been playing a 3e conversion of the Vault of the Drow lately? :)

Magic Vestment can only take the armor up to +5 including other funky powers.

"A suit of amor cannot have more than +5 in total bonuses (even if some of its bonus is from otehr than enhancement."

However, GMW doesn't have this restriction, and thus works on your +1 vorpal speed weapon or something. I plan on researching a 4th level Greater Magic Vestment spell that doesn't have that lame cap.

Sunspear is an awesome spell from Relics and Rituals. For most levels, its damage is about the same as searing light (until SL caps out, while sunspear doesn't). However, instead of extra damage against undead and a major hit on sunlight vulnerable ones, it can also be used to heal.

Our group is also fighting some drow. They're taking over a big forest in FR, and raiding the nearby villages.

I wasn't too keen on Hero's feast. While it has a pretty nice effect, I had other uses for my level 6 spells (my highest spell level). I planned on cranking out a bunch of delay poison scrolls and using them before we launch a major counterstrike. Any opinions on Hero's Feast versus lots of Delay poison?

Destruction is a Death effect, which is a major drawback in my opinion. However, the spell still rules unless they've a Death Ward up.

You need a Mighty bow to get the Strength pump on a missle weapon. Even the Longbows max out at +4 Mighty in the PHB.

Quite true. Now that my character made 6th level and bought bracers of archery, it's even higher though. Here's the breakdown:

Equipment: +1 mty [+3] composite longbow, Quiver of Ehlonna with 56 normal arrows and 4 +1 arrows.

Range: <=30 feet
Normal Damage: 1d8+1 (enhancement) +1 (strength) +1 Point Blank Shot +1 Bracers of Archery=1d8+4

4+ on Bull's Strength damage: 1d8 +1 enhancement +3 strength +1 point blank shot +1 bracers of archery=1d8+6

With Divine Favor as well: as above but +2 luck for 1d8+8 per shot.

A thought: with either the magic or protection domain, you get the powerful anti-magic field(lvl 6 wiz,8 clr) at 11th level, the same as wizards. And, against said wizards, it´s incomperhensively powerful, as you are most likely better at combat.

Way I figure, you could magic up your comrades, then field yourself. Dimensional anchor(lvl 4) cast first, and your mithril breastplate (move 30) should prevent the wizards excape. A psion ally by your side is a good option as well.

Divine favour, Harm, antimagic field - clerics on all of the planes have commanded more respect ever since the coming of Ao´s 3ed.
