Just thought people would like to know that CMP is taking preorders for the datasets. You will have to register an account to see what is going on. You can buy either PCGen, Etools, or both. They seem to have everything covered.

Examples:
Splat books(5): 14 for bundle
DDG, MotP, BoVD: 15
Module Set(?)(Path Modules): 18
Stronghold, Enemies and Allies, book of Challenges: 9

there are more bundles. Everything is 123.50!!

For $23.00 bucks (heck technically for $14.00) I can have all the sources that my group uses covered.

However, even as much as I trust Robert, Bryan and the rest of the head bananas, I'm still waiting for the actual product first, instead of pre-ordering. Cash in hand is worth a promise in the bush, grandaddy used to say.

Yep, from the e-Tools side I'm going to have to see how the patched eTools works first before committing to these purchases.

Also makes me wonder if I'll have to buy similar data again should I decide to move to 3.5.

Also makes me wonder how filesharing and other forms of piracy will impact all of this. I can't imagine this stuff not being "out there" minutes after it is released...

There's really not a lot one can do, from the PCGen side of things, at least, and not really from the e-tools side either. But it's incumbent on both the users and CMP to report violators, pretty much same as always.

I swear, the more we embraced the Digital Age, the more we'll suck at penmanship. :(

Hey! I predate the digital age, and I'll have you know my penmanship has ALWAYS sucked! :p

(My answer to that problem has been calligraphy, for some reason writing that way, which really doesn't take that much longer, seems to get rid of the problem... Nobody said that I had to make sense, did they?)

Or just go back to basic: pen and paper.

I can't read my own handwriting half the time, my penmanship always was bad. Takes away from the adventure when you have to decipher chicken scratching at the table. Before the digital age I used a typewriter and/or pre-formatted sheets where I just had to fill in the blanks. I want my digital age crutches I need them to get through a session, besides we threw the typewriter away.

Either you're a medical doctor, have some physical disorder or ailment, or you are a victim of a poorly-designed education system (public or private).

As for the topic of this thread, you get two choices: pay for someone to do the PCGen dataset expansion for you, or freely input them yourself.

EDIT: Forgot there is a third choice: wait for new OGC from Wizards.
