Fabio goes on total defense and moves into the fog cloud at 75N55E. The plan is to get into the cloud as deeply as possible, so in case I miscounted...I know he can at least just into the edge. Next round he will go on total defense and move towards the middle of the fog cloud to the east, circling southwards if possible. (time compress two rounds?)

OOC: I have Fabio just outside the edge of the cloud, not into the edge. At 55E, the cloud is six squares long, starting at 45N55E and moving N from there. That means 75N55E is the seventh square, just north of the cloud's edge.

The hyena misses the AoO. Fabio moves to 75N55E executing total defense.

The hyena charges to 80N45E and misses.

OOC: I'm not sure where Fabio is supposed to end up on his next move.

Fabio, fighting defensively, changes his chaotic mind and takes a step back to 70N60E, firing the powerful 'longbow' again.

Fabio steps into the cloud and fires. The arrow misses. (Rolled 13-4 for FD = 9)

The hyena steps to 75N50E and chomps on Fabio. (Rolled natural 20, natural 1 crit roll, beat miss chance) Fabio takes 10-5 = 5 points of damage and is tripped. (Rolled 13 vs. 2) Fabio has 10 hp left.

Stand up. Move silently further into the cloud to 70N80E. He's moving more quickly than normal for moving silently (-5 on the check), but still not at full speed. This even accounts for the half speed penalty for the fog cloud.

Fabio moves through the first cloud and into the southern edge of the second cloud.

The hyena sniffs and moves cautiously through the cloud to 75N70E.

A snippet of conversation drifts down from the LE gallery. "That little runt should be shark bait by now. He's lucky all that fog is saving his butt right now."

OOC: No AoO for standing up? It's only regular concealment at this point (5ft away), isn't it?

OOC: Oops, I thought any concealment prevented AoO's, just like cover.

The hyena bites with his AoO for 13-5 = 8 points of damage. Fabio has 2 hp left. The rest of the action still occurs.

OOC: Some CR4 monster Fabio is, eh? How pathetic. I guess he would shine against a spellcaster opponent or if the terrain had wood.

Since the concealment doesn't seem to be helping, Fabio is just going to withdraw south and then west to 40N55E. Fabio's plan is to keep circling around the fog clouds, staying out of immediate harm's reach of the big dog. He has zero chance of whittling this thing away in combat, so he will go for the draw by moving to locations where the thing can't charge him again.
