CoC Delta Green

I don't have the DG sourcebook, but I love to play CoC and I would like to start a modern-DG campaign. I wanted to know if DG had a headquarters or a base or something where they operate out of. I know they're a secret conspiracy, but is there like a central location or something where they're based? Alphonse's home, or his workplace (library of congress)maybe? Or is there a place where agents are debriefed? Thanks.

No, Delta Green doesn't maintain any bases. DG is a lot more like a resistance movement or a terrorist network -- individual members almost never meet other members outside their cell (which is three people per cell). They're a very small, highly decentralized conspiracy; a home base would be too easy a target for their enemies.

The closest thing they've got is a series of rented storage units. When a cell finishes an operation, they'll sometimes stash any leftover supplies in a rental storage unit and upload an inventory of its contence to a central database. If another cell needs that material (spare guns, extra cash, camping gear, explosives, etc.) they can get access to the unit.

Thanks. That helps a lot! I'd also like to ask about the Cambodian operation in 1970 that caused DG to be disbanded. What happened? Is there any "official" (publisher-released) account of the events that occurred? If not, is there an "unofficial" account? Thanks.

There are several books of "official" short stories: Alien Intelligence, Dark Theatres, and Rules of Engagement which give a good glimpse into the structures, resources, and characters of DG. I forget which book has it, but the Cambodia debacle is given some explanation. Basically, it was a bait and switch summoning gone wrong, and B-52's were called in the 'clean-up' the scene.

If you can find them the books are worth reading. Hopefully the re-print will make your life easier as the setting and scenarios contained within are a darn creepy read.

Cool. Thanks. :D

I also was wondering... I really really really want to buy Delta Green so I can start a campaign with it, but should I really wait until GenCon Indy? And even then, only a few crates will be out, so they'll probably run out at the convention. I'm familiar with CoC BRP, though I prefer d20 (my players don't get as confused). Is it too hard to convert from one to the other? Hmm.... I want to get the d20 version, but I didn't want to wait. :\

BTW, I looked up the books you mentioned, and there's a flashback in Rules of Engagement about a Cambodia operation... Is this it? Or is there a more detailed version of the story in Alien Intelligence or in Dark Theatres?

Yea, it is the flashback in RoE I haven't come across anything more specific.

Initially for the conversion it's just a matter of finding the same or similar stated creatures in the D20 CoC book and porting them over.

I eventually moved the character creation and base game mechanics over to D20 Modern since I liked the character creation a bit better. I kept the D20 CoC magic and some of the creatures not listed in the Menace Manual. You could still use the Brp, D20 C0C or Horror for sanity rules.

Otherwise the scenarios didn't require much conversion and the scenarios in Delta Green are mean spirited and oh so much fun. It doesn't matter is you are playing a 10th level gunslinger with two-fisted rocket launchers (j/k), if the PC's don't investigate and research they will definately die. Actually even if they do their studies they will probably die, but they might just save the world for a little longer in the process.
