OMG! $2.99 comics becoming $3.99?
I have some that are 10¢.
I don't forsee DC & Marvel going digital any time in the near future- the digital age is simply too new, there are simply too many readers out there who won't want to read 30+ page digital comics at home or on special readers when they can tote the printed ones around the world.
Without needing batteries or power converters.
Eventually? Sure. But I'm thinking the time will be measured in multiple decades, not months or years.
As for the silver-age stuff- generally, that stuff hits a high mark and kind of plateaus. They will not diminish significantly in value as long as collectors are still around.
Did you ever see Unbreakable (by M Night Shaymalan?)- the character played by Samuel Jackson had a gallery comprised largely of original sketches from comics.
If/When physical comics dissapear, the same will happen to even the most humble and overproduced issues of today.
