Commando! system solo wargames

I have both Border War and Congo Merc from Decision Games. They are part of the mini game series and are solo games, with the action driven by cards.
I found that the newness wears off quickly and the games become boring after a few plays.

Has anybody else tried them, and what do you think?

I don't think I've heard about them, yet, but I'm not that much into wargames. Decision Games, huh? Have to look it up on BGG.
