Community Favorite D&D Fan Adventures and Campeign Settings

First Post
Reading a thread today about people not using fan made adventures I realized why I don't often gravitate towards them. It takes a lot of reading to even find out weather or not a particular adventure is even notable.

So. I ask the community here, in the past what fan made adventures have you run that you found particularly notable and fun. And please don't just post your own. Only post ones you have found within the community that you have enjoyed. Everyone who has created their own adventure thinks its "awesome" so try to post links to adventures you didn't create....

Northern Journey

I really enjoyed reading the Northern Journey series of adventures set in the Forgotten Realms. It starts out at level 1 and was designed to move characters up to epic levels. The adventures involves much movement around the FR setting, allowing for a great deal of exposure and exploration of regional flavour. The writing is high caliber.

A design aspect I especially like is how they tie in several published modules if you wish to expand on the campaign. For example, there are options to tie in Axe of the Dwarvish Lords, the Randal Morn modules, draws in the original Bloodstone Pass H-series, and even includes an exit pass to Ravenloft.

The flip-side of the coin is that the story involves a great deal of deus-ex-machina, which in my opinion isn't handled too gracefully most of the time. But it's relatively easy to mask that with slight adjustment to how the course of events are described; just be sure to familiarize yourself with the material beforehand.

It was originally written for 2E and was updated to 3E. As the original writers have since ceased development of the project I doubt it will ever be officially updated for 4E.
