Community supporter subscription question

Why does it cost 7$ more if we want to become a supporter for 2 years(87$), versus 1 year(40$) multiplied by 2? Shouldn't it be the other way around, marketing-wise?

I really was interested in getting the 2 year contribution, but the fact that it costs more than a yearly contribution bums me out quite a bit. (I'm the kind of guy who doesn't like to renew all the time, I like to pay once and be done with it for as long as I can or want)

Had been a supporter many years back (before the board's wipe at the start of 2002 if I recall) and now that I find myself coming here more regularly again I want to support ya guys.

I hadn't seen the 3 years option earlier this week, but now that I saw it I picked that one.
