Only ONE so far for Sword & Sorcery? Scarred Lands? C'mon peoples! It can't be that popular? is it?

:D

S&S isn't just Scarred Lands. Arthous is a division of them, so you get all the Ravenloft players as well. And don't forget that a lot of people (myself included) like the Creature Collection and/or Relics and Rituals for non SL games.

The companies and reasons I have not purchased:

Atlas - I have no interest in anything they have released; nothing meets my needs.

Avalanche - don't care about historical scenarios.

Bastion - again, nothing they have released holds any interest for me; nothing meets my needs. Prices are a little steep for graphic quality, which doesn't hold a lot of value for me. However, I think I'm going to buy Airships.

EN Publishing - mostly PDF, AFAIK. I don't buy PDFs.

Fantasy Flight Games - yet another company that I have no interest in; nothing they've released have met my needs. AFAIK, it seems like it's a lot of feats/prestige class/etc stuff. Blech.

Pinnacle Entertainment Group - I don't even know what these guys do... Deadlands? No interest in that.

RPG Objects - also don't know what these guys do. Darwin's World? I only use d20 for fantasy gaming. Other systems do futuristic stuff far better than d20 could ever hope to do.

Troll Lord Games - nothing of interest yet, but I'll buy their Necromancer Games modules when they come out.

I've bought something from every other company, but I somewhat regret my only purchase from FFE (Demons & Devils), made way back when I hadn't heard of them.

I hadn't realized that I had spread my custom over so many publishers.... I have something from nearly everyone on the list... though I pretty much had enough of AEG after my first purchase. I wasn't really impressed. I bought one product from MEG, and it's great, but I don't really have much use for it. And I've only purchased one item from Troll Lord as well, but, again, I was duly impressed.

I own a significant library of Malhavoc, Green Ronin and FFG products. I've bought several Mongoose books as well, though I often have mixed feelings about the content.

I haven't purchased any EN Publishing materials since it came to be, but I've got some Ambient products and I've purchased almost every pdf Natural 20 ever released... some of the best books I own....

I've not purchased from Atlas, Avalanche (the boob factor alone ruins them for me), Bastion, FFG (Dragonstar looks great but I am not sure I'd ever get a chance to play it), Kenzer and Company, Mongoose (but Armageddon 2089 sounds great!), Pinncale, RPG Objects, Troll Lord Games. Whew, what a list. I accidentally voted for Green Ronin, though, so subtract one from their column.

Yeah! Buy more Fiery Dragon stuff. Fantastic counters by our own Claudio Pozas, great adventures, and Fiery James lives in my basement. Well, "lives" in the sense of "is chained to the furnace." But it's close enough.

I have books from most of these folks, barring Avalanche (covers), FFG, and RPG Objects. My AEG purchases have been almost exclusively Spycraft, and I couldn't be happier. What a fantastic game.

Avalanche is a no-go. The covers are a major stumbling block for me, and the content didn't look that good, either. Mongoose has yet to release anything I like, though I hope they can do justice to the B5 license (which I expect they won't). I flipped through FFG's "X of Power" series, and immediately put them back on the shelves. Big text, little content and what is there is poorly balanced, IMHO. Purchased two S&S products, dislike one with a passion and the other sits and gathers dust, unbalanced and unused.

The only thing that I've seen of Troll Lord (other than their IMHO ugly logo) is the material from EGG and his sons. All of it looks OK, but it's not really my style. And it's somewhat pricey.

Nyambe sounds interesting, but I haven't gotten around to it. AEG is the same, re:Rokugan and Spycraft (and since I have d20 Modern, I'm not sure how much I need Spycraft, now). FFE has pleased with each release I've gotten from them, such as Traps & Treachery, which was a great book in the right place at the right time. WotC has made a misstep or two, but still holds pride of place. Malhavoc, Fiery Dragon, BadAxe and Green Ronin generally do pretty well for themselves. (Monte and Wulf and Piratecat currently hold the honor of "If they publish it, I will buy it")

The others? Well, for many, I don't even know what they put out. Until someone mentioned atlas with Nyambe, I didn't know them, either. I have no idea what MEG actually produces, for example. EN World publishing....I'd have to look. I like printed versus PDFs usually, and most of ENWorld material looks a little too wonky for my games. I have no idea or impression as to their quality.

All I can say is, I hope people are willing to check out Horade too when I finish writing Steam & Steel: A Guide to Fantasy Steamworks ;)

* Harlock does the forehead-smack-thing.

I should really have looked at my bookshelf before voting. I totally forgot that Fantasy Flight did the Traps and Treachery books. Well, subtract a vote for FFG for me as well as that Green Ronin error.

*Harlock scuttles off to make a list of books and their publishers that he owns.

Neat poll, Crothian. There have been some unexpected responses so far, so I'll chime in as well:

Avalanche - I don't need anything that they've offered thus far, although it generally looks to be pretty well done. The cheesecake factor doesn't bother me.

Bastion - I can't stand what I've seen of Bastion's stuff -- the art is terrible, rules elements are poorly done, and even when the concepts are good (Airships, Arms & Armor) the execution leaves a lot to be desired. (I got A&A for free with my Dungeon subscription, but I don't think that counts. ;))

EN Publishing - Like Avalanche, I haven't been interested in what's been offered thus far.

Fast Forward Entertainment - I thought their first releases were of very poor quality, and as far as I can tell nothing has changed since then.

Fiery Dragon - Haven't needed anything they've offered.

Mongoose - Overpowered and problematic rules elements coupled with bland layout and a generally low-rent feel have always turned me off to Mongoose's stuff. I avoid collections of OGL material (AEG's Feats, Mongoose's own Ultimate books, etc.) that contain Mongoose material because I don't want to worry about fixing it. Probably my least favorite d20 company overall.

Mystic Eye Games - Never really piqued my interest.

Pinnacle - I've only seen their Deadlands stuff, which isn't really my cup of tea.

RPG Objects - Don't know the first thing about them. ;)

All IMO, of course. :)
